Drake Events presents the Parys Road Outride on Saturday, 14 September. At the exciting double century milestone distance of 200km, the ride departs easterly from Paulshof, taking on a few rolling hills and getting through some of the climbing early in the ride. As one rider exclaimed, ‘we threw the penultimate climb outside the start venue!’. Just before Kempton Park, the route takes a right hand turn southerly towards Boksburg on the western side of the airport. Once you have passed Boksburg the route again turns right onto Heidelberg. From Heidelberg you’ll then start heading westerly in the direction of Parys. White River awaits for the lunch stop before you head through Vanderbijlpark onto Water Point 3. From Water Point 3 it’s fast and furious, with most of the last 20km a false flat downhill to Parys. Once you’re through the town of Parys, it’s still another 10km before the finish venue at Stonehenge. We're very excited to offer you a magnificent 200km route. Hey @JBK... Thanks for the interest in our event. Based on your R4S pace I believe you will be good in the 30 average group. Sitting in the group allows for a lot of slip and less effort. The slower groups start behind for a reason. If you're not comfortable in the group, you can wait at the water point for the next group, being the 28 average group, to then slot in for the remainder of the ride. If you're unsure, possibly start in the 28 group and then know you're in a comfortable group from the start. Groups stop at every water point for 10 minutes and at lunch for 30 minutes. The lunch stop is ready from 10H00 but by no means does it mean we'll get there at that time. On Saturday 02 September, we host this exciting mountain bike race in the greater Pretoria & JHB east area. The race offers two distance options; The Big Beast, at 169km, will have four water points and a well stocked feed zone to get in those calories for the last 70km. The Small Beast might be shorter at 111km, but will still be a tough day out, whether you choose your mountain bike, gravel bike or e-bike. The Small Beast will have three well stocked water points to keep you going all day.  We're very excited to offer you a magnificent, well-marked, marshalled route. The route is 99% non-technical with only a few very short rocky sections in the forest.  This day is all about you and enjoying every minute spent in the saddle with like-minded riders. The route from Pretoria to Badplaas is anything but flat, but truly spectacular! It's not about the pace, but rather the experience. Mpumalanga has so much beauty, which we will explore on this tour. The 603km will bring on 9385m of vertical ascent. Although it may be a challenge, the group will ride at a respectable, endurance pace daily.  Day 1 will be a long day out with the double century ticking over, but will be the "flattest" day of the tour. Ease into the week and get the legs rolling over. From Stage 2 onwards, the climbing legs will engage - with slow, steady climbs you'll have plenty opportunity to enjoy the scenery and make memories with new friends. You'll depart Kyalami and get the climbing legs working early with most of the climbing for the day outside the start venue. Don't worry, what goes up must come down. Once you head through Boksburg, the route flattens out and doesn't present any notable climbs. We're very excited to offer you a magnificent 198km route, as well as a relay option if the double century is a bit too far.  You have a choice to ride in any of the three different paced groups, but ensure you're comfortable at the prescribed pace, as the groups are all no-drop groups. On Saturday 08 April, join us for the first MTB Outride of the year and the third edition of the Loskop Outride. The route is an A-B route, starting in Pretoria East and ending in Loskop. With a mass group start, you'll have 11 hours to complete the 185km. It's not a race, so ride as fast or as slow as you like, as long as you make the time cuts.
