Event Name: Parys Road Outride by Drake EventsWhen: 14/09/2024Where: Rivonia Recreation Club, PaulshofSandton, GautengCategory: RoadThe ever-favourite Parys Road Outride. Every year we see many excited riders returning for this awesome, somewhat iconic ride to Parys. Will you be joining in 2024? Drake Events presents the Parys Road Outride on Saturday, 14 September. At the exciting double century milestone distance of 200km, the ride departs easterly from Paulshof, taking on a few rolling hills and getting through some of the climbing early in the ride. As one rider exclaimed, ‘we threw the penultimate climb outside the start venue!’. Just before Kempton Park, the route takes a right hand turn southerly towards Boksburg on the western side of the airport. Once you have passed Boksburg the route again turns right onto Heidelberg. From Heidelberg you’ll then start heading westerly in the direction of Parys. White River awaits for the lunch stop before you head through Vanderbijlpark onto Water Point 3. From Water Point 3 it’s fast and furious, with most of the last 20km a false flat downhill to Parys. Once you’re through the town of Parys, it’s still another 10km before the finish venue at Stonehenge. We're very excited to offer you a magnificent 200km route. The route is an A-B route, with option for you to take a shuttle back with us after the ride, including transport for your bicycle. Hey @JBK... Thanks for the interest in our event. Based on your R4S pace I believe you will be good in the 30 average group. Sitting in the group allows for a lot of slip and less effort. The slower groups start behind for a reason. If you're not comfortable in the group, you can wait at the water point for the next group, being the 28 average group, to then slot in for the remainder of the ride. If you're unsure, possibly start in the 28 group and then know you're in a comfortable group from the start. Groups stop at every water point for 10 minutes and at lunch for 30 minutes. The lunch stop is ready from 10H00 but by no means does it mean we'll get there at that time.
