  1. Thanks! They are going to have Maurten again. Where did you buy yours?
  2. Hi Everyone, Browsed through the forum, didnt manage to get an answer. What combination of energy drink or whatever you put in your bottle PLUS gel or bar do you use? The energy drinks that I have on my shortlist: USN Epic Pro 2 (cheaper option) 32Gi Race Hammer Heed High5 Energy drink (https://highfive.co.uk/blogs/guides/middle-distance-triathlon-70-3) Pretty cool breakdown of what to use. Bars and Gels.. not sure. A few people mentioned (older topics) that certain drinks + gels don't work well together. I guess the best way would then be to start with the drink and test from there as it would be easier and cheaper. Any reccomendations would be welcomed. Thank you!
  3. Which Lake shoes would you go for? Wouldnt the cheaper versions be sufficient?
  4. Thanks for the feedback. Did you get your "normal" size or slightly bigger? Are they worth the 5k? And did you consider the Recon 2.0 before buying?
  5. Hi All, I have gone through the forum and previous chats. My current MTB Shoes, Shimano XC501 may be too small, or my feet are too wide for them. Also, I am getting numbness on the front and outer sides of my feet. And yes, I have gone for a bike fit. Anyway, I bought a road bike for triathlon and decided to get a new pair of MTB shoes to use for the mtb and road bike. I've been doing some research over the last couple of days, and I can't narrow it down to what I need to get. I am currently looking at the Specialized Recon 3.0 or Shimano XC702 Wide (having difficulty finding a shop that stocks them). Other brands recommended online were Sidi, Lake, Giro and Bont. I like Sidi, but I prefer BOA for Triathlons. Couldn't find a shop that stocks Bont or Lake, and not keen to buy online as I already own one pair that I thought was the correct fit which ended up not being. Any suggestions or tips would be great. Thanks!
  6. If anyone bought a kickr Core and don't want it anymore, ill take it at purchase price.

    45k mtb?

Also agree to this. Titans are grreat value for money, but I also thought that they were heavy. 45k would get you a nice 2nd hand bike. Like the Scott Spark RC stated.
  9. Did some more research. GREAT value for money. Check out the website that I postes about the safety tests if you havent seen it before. Cheers
  10. Thanks, would definitely keep it in mind. What is your opinion on the Scott Centric Plus helmet?
  11. Thanks for all the contribution thus far. I found a website that is really helpful in regards to safety. Few cheaper gems in between the expensive helmets. bicycle-helmet-ratings.html
  12. Are there new deals everyday? and what time will they be on and when will you take them off? Thanks CWC for contributing to make Lockdown a whole lot better.
  13. Would definitely add that one to my shortlist. Have you checked out some of the rudy helmets from ASG? Thanks
  14. Could you put a price on your safety? however, with all the lockdown sales i would prefer to stay below R2500, ending up buying one of the helmets on special.
  15. In the market for a new helmet. Have tested the fit of a few helmets over the last few weeks. Started doing some research but there doesn't seem to be to many independent reviews only. Willing to spend a few rand for my safety. Any recommendations? Might do some road cycling down the line, so more xc/road than xc/trail. Thanks
  16. Been checking out a few helmuts lately (might be in the market for you). Was to figure out which ones are for mtb and which are for road. Did some research on visors: Rule of thumb that most MTB helmuts will have a visor and road helmuts not. Reason for is that road cyclist are generally in a more aggresive position and the visor would be in their way, while mtb riders not. Also that some MTB riders around the world prefer not to wear glasses because of the constant light changing condition in races (forest/open) and therefor want a visor. But among our family members we are 50/50 with visors and non visors on mtb helmuts. Googled a few pro XC racers and most of them don't have visors. Out of curiosity, do you have a visor or not? And is there a specific reason why you went with your option? or didn't really care about it?
  17. What is your email/number or how can I contact you?
  18. Thanks, just went through the forums and it was clear that Lyne Components are the way to go for me.
  19. In the market for a dropper post. Any tips on a great value for money dropper? 31,6 Internal routed. And easy/not expensive to service. Any tips would be welcome. Don't have any knowledge on droppers and have never used one before. For obvious reason I will be going with the Lyne.
