First time I did this race. Did the 45km. What a great ride. Definitely an honest day’s work/riding . Believe the site when they say there is not much rest. You are either going up a steep hill or hurtling down an even steeper one. This was one of the best race rides I have had in the WC. The route was well marked, clean and apart from the last 20m to the green Eskom tower all is ridable. The veld is stunning and the views are even better. The little drizzle helped to compact the sand strips and the wind helped on some of the uphill’s. This event will for sure be a yearly one for me. Thanx Alwyn and Corrie and all involved. keep it up - this is why we ride mtb's. Next year I will bring everyone that I can to join in the days fun.
