We were part of a small group which came about 10 min after. It was a terrible situation and even though we had a doctor riding with us and she tried everything his injuries were just to much. There were two other minor accidents before this that I am aware. You then want to ask the question that with the small amount of cyclists on the day and the number of accidents was it just one of those days or is this something that needs to be looked at. I must admit it is not a nice thing to see a fellow cyclist die next to the road especially if you lost a friend a month ago because of a freak cycling accident. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends.

Final update Al died this morning in hospital. He went slowly backwards and eventually passed away. No one switched machines off or anything else people might say. We where all lucky and fortunate to have known him, we will all miss him but we will never forget him. Go well Al.
