  1. Thats just ridiculous, where must one draw the line then? What sports should or should not have a helmet worn? Just goes to show the complete arrogance & mindlessness of some cyclists, those same people moaning cause someone is not wearing a helmet, are the same people that are riding two abreast and with no lights on there bikes at night, riding on pavements.
  2. So was everyone arrogant & selfish before it was made compulsary to wear a helmet in a race . God there must be a lot of selfish & arrogant people around then - I very much doubt it. Its all about me and my head, why not wear a helmet when driving your car then, or walking down the street. We may as wear a helmet whenever, whereever, whatever we are doing. As Bikemonstor just said, we are all individuals that can make our own minds up.
  3. Dont get me wrong, If im training offroad or doing a race I'll always ride with a helmet( I hate it though) It about not being stupid, and havin some common sense sometime. Something we seem to have lost or be loosing somewhere along in our evolution as man I'll always ride to the shop or along the beach with no helmet, no matter what any health & safety twit tells me - Its my choice
  4. Put your hands out really quick , Tuck & roll. You may as well always wear a helmet when u surf as well, Just in case you may bang your head on your board or maybe hit the reef or a submeged rock, Should my mate have been wearing sunglasses to protect him from his surfboard when he lost his eye by having it speared out by the nose if it? - Where do you draw the line . I say do what you like, it your choice. As long as youre not endangering anyone else.
  5. I'll say again, whats the problem? Its my indaba. I havent had a go at anyone, yet you have chosen to say something to me. Mmm.
  6. I also have the music turned down enough that I can still hear it, but hear more whats going on around me. By jumping onto pavements is more an endangerment then not wearing youre helmet.
  7. Its like the guys that ride at night, dusk or dawn with no lights - Im more worried about that then not them wearing a helmet. Cause they are a danger to other road users
  8. I ride sometimes with no helmet & listen to my MP3 player, what the problem.
  9. Im training about an hr/45 mins on the spinning bike 4 days a week(wed rest day), then I'll alternate days when I do another hr of cardio, be it on the cross trainer, the rowing machines, stepper or Ill be core strenght training or maybe a 15 min run, then on the oher two days Im doing light weights(more super circuit) one 1 day of the weights and then on the other Ill do a full light weights program, and with another day of core strengh training. My muscles are sore after and I feel like Im not going to ge able to make the nest days training, although ill push through the pain barrier. I know that whey & protein shakes will help with recovery of the muscles - Im just worried that if I take it, then still have dinner when I get home - Ill start to add weight on. I find my training regime defiantly help with my cycling - I ride three times a week(wed, light ride; Sat a long ride and sunday either race day or a ride with the missus or just a chilled ride by myself) I also surf/bodyboard after my rides as well. So i need sometjhing to help with all that.
  10. Would you recommend to be be taking either of those after Ive been training at the gym for 2hrs? I need my body to recover for the next days session, Im worried about putting weight on by taking these "recovery" drinks
  11. Ive had that before, been shown up by guys in their 50's & even 60's. Certainly put me in my place
  12. Im sure I read prices of about 6.5k for them https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/80788-2010-silverback-nebraska-vs-2011-merida-300/page__p__1127650__hl__nebraska__fromsearch__1?do=findComment&comment=1127650
  13. What did you want from them? Youve gotta be first
  14. Eish, Slowpoke. What happened when you retaliated?
  15. I read a terrible story that happened in Pinetown(Durban), about the boy/young man shot my would be hijackers/robbers the day after he had his final day of Matric, his brother was also shot. What the hell is going on, why is this government not doing more to stop this rampant violent crime. I cant wait till one of Zumas family have this happen to them. Why are not seeing more police?
  16. Thats so hectic, so so sorry that this has happened to your wife and to have to witness it must be terrible, I do hope that they are ok. I hope that they catch the bastards or rather they die a painful death from AIDS.
  17. So sorry to hear that this has happened to you - Just glad youre ok Whats happened?
  18. Lets just say in the immortal words of Forrest Gump, " stupid is as stupid does"
  19. So you dont think it was a stupid thing to do, rather that it was just wrong? What if it was a stupidly wrong thing to do.
  20. I may have said that, but in certain circumstances people do stupid things. So yes I may have to judge her on her stupid judgement & inconsiderate behaviour
  21. Im afraid that does make her stupid to not consider what she is doing is wrong and totally inconsiderate
  22. I would agree with the mergeing of traffic, but unfortunatly this is Africa. The roads/ on-ramps are not well designed enough to be always be able to see the traffic to be able to do this, also there may not be a gap or the ability for a driver already on the motorway to move over or slow down as the person behind me is wanting to sniff my arse they so close . So in this case then you need to yield to traffic to your right (which is a major traffic rule) and wait for a gap. Its simple
  23. Exactly, its the same with poeple trying to use a roundabout here, they have no clue. Its not a my turn situation. You wait till its clear to proceed.
  24. Still doesnt always work that way, its morning traffic, I cant always move over, If I could I would. Ive driven in four European countries as well, and maybe its just South African drivers that are really inconsiderate and that they think they each have their own set of rules. If people did come onto the freeway at speed, with an indicator being used then maybe it would work. You cant just expect to be able to flow/fit in with the traffic,.
  25. Regional or not, its the law for drivers entering the mororway to yield for the traffic already on the freeway, not just expect someone to suddenly move over, maybe also try to use an indicator might help. What happens if I can just move over, must I be slamming my brakes on so I can be rear ended because other road users also dont know what a safe following distance is.
