  1. Well see the confusion, I was told I had to buy the full license last year by CSA:angry: - I wonder how many others got caught out
  2. I still think we need to be moaning at CSA, not on here. Maybe a meeting could be set up somehow with them? So that they could listen to all of us "average" riders concerns. We could elect a Hub chairmen to be the voice of the common cyclist - "The Peoples Voice"
  3. No, would still work out cheaper having the full licence - Say 1 or 2 races a month @ R35 a time, kinda adds up. Also youre only allowed 3 day licenses according to CSA
  4. Either way we will continue to get screwed over
  5. For myself & my wife for CSA memberships, plus R350 if we both wanted race licenses(cause we are not allowed to get more then 3 day licenses, also makes sense cost wise)
  6. Ill be happy with R50 a year for ROAG - Redo my equation So it will cost me R850/year for myself & the wife to have the privialage of just being able to enter a race + race day fees + cost of getting to the races + extras + R1700 for a safe place to ride/year+ if I wanna ride somewhere else for the day(R50) + parts, servicing + extras+ R100 ROAG membership = VERY EXPENSIVE(just to ride and have fun & few races a year)
  7. Who or what constitutes the average/grassroots rider - How much you can afford as opposed to someone that is new to the sport?
  8. Dont quote me on that, Im going on what someone else said - Im sure they have operating costs too, so a small fee would be fine I think Something reasonable
  9. So ROAG may have to shut down if fees are not paid - Ill be happy with R50 for a year - I dont need all the fancy smancy things that go with being joined to other clubs where fees are applicable. What would be acceptable fees for ROAG ?
  10. Maybe we should rather concentrate on sending these questions & possibly email all the threads to CSA and see what they say. Maybe that would be more constructive Let them know hoe people really feel
  11. Eish I had to be honest right from the start(always best)
  12. 13. How did you manage that? Very nice
  14. I do more then 3 races a year, I would still consider myself a "fun rider" Im out there to have fun, nothing else. - I think the fees issue is a bit much(cost wise) but as with most things in SA its either put up or shut up:(
  15. Very nice Get them chromed.
  16. For me the only thing that beats the feeling of riding my bike(outdoors), is riding a wave.
  17. Lol - it all helps in reduction of weight but it will never be as light. She is getting hand me down tubeless(waiting till pay day to get a rear hub) wheels which Ive already noticed take a massive weight off. Ive also told her no touching, Im also not taking to her to any bike shops either.
  18. Nice set-up, and a whole room dedicated to cycling What does the hanging meter measure?
  19. Soon to be as he wont be able to protect himself or business:( What a load of bollocks
  20. Just purchased the Missus her first new bike(ever) She is so stoked I put some bling on it, she never even noticed, lol. But now she keeps asking me to go riding with her(created a monstor). She has gotten all my old bits & pieces in terms of upgrading her bike so far, and ill be ordering her some shiny new tubeless wheels for Xmas. She is already complaining the bike is heavy compared to mine. So new crankset for me, she gets hand me downs;)
  21. Thats something I agree with 100% Sad, but I think its very true.
  22. I can only afford one bike to do everything(as most people in SA will only have & could afford), so I will put reasonably lightweight parts on my bike(which is a trail/xc/race/all mtn/downhill) Thats a pretty varied statement youve made there. I definatly wont have the lightest though. Most of my riding is trail with races thrown in too
  23. So this is what Ive learnt today - 1.)SwissStop pads are not worth the money(need another comment about this, its 1 - 1 so far) 2.) Metal pads are a waste of time in South Africa so must go with resin(organic) pads. 3.)Alligator Windcutter Rotors are not that great, but can be?
  24. Are you implying that a fellow hubber is selling counterfeit goods to us hubbers?
