  1. SOON maybe! My hopes keep changing based on whats currently available in the country rn :/
  2. Well, Ill wait and see what they say. I also wanted a Scott. But no one has the roadies I want
  3. Hahaha, all the comments. Thanks for your input everyone. Found a superb place that has a Retul measurer and everything! Most incredible place I have seen in a long time, but my heart sort of sank when I saw the prices.... So I went with the next best option, and I think they are doing their best for me One day when I am a famous cyclist, Ill get the full treatment ferrari of road bikes
  4. That is more understandable now that you explain it. The only site that came close to helping me understand everything was Scott, with their Help me find my bike tool...
  5. Non-carbon roadie. Budget depends on whats available really. After a new bike but if I can get a really decent secondhand one then that would be great too. I am 1.62m. Ridden before but never on a roadie, whole new game here I think. Race and club rides to keep fit etc etc Can ladies ride mens bikes? I am finding the ladies options boring and lacking abit! And the one I really want, they dont have stock of...
  6. Will definitely try them! Heard they are excellent!
  7. Hi all, I am super keen on getting a road bike now. I have been to a couple of stores and they either want to sell me their most expensive brands or they dont have stock of the one I think I really want. I went to a well known LBS and they said I had to buy the bike first before I could be sized and fitted to it etc - that made no sense, especially since I had no idea at the time of what I wanted to buy. Are there no LBS' in the KZN area that actually help you to choose the best bike for what you want it for? For your size? Help you to fit to it before you choose what you want? Help you understand the gears/ratios and so forth? Or do they just want to sell you their stuff? I am so new to this, I dont know what to get! I want help and guidance to choose what I want but no one wants to do that? And the ones I have been shown, are either so expensive and a decent colour or cheap and a nasty colour. I want a decent road bike, with the right ratio of quality gears etc for me, that looks good too! Please help?
  8. welllllllllll its on the cycle lab website (facepalm)
  9. Grebel! That is the info i need. I have just got the chen shin 26x1.5 slicks - what tube will fit? I have been told to get a variety (sum1 said 1.9 would fit - my brain doesnt get this...)but I dont know what is best. The valve has to be a Presta - the rim hole is tiny, and I would prefer to be slimed...thoughts?
  10. So if I buy, Kenda 26x1.5 - that is 'ideal' - but if I have a wider tube - say (26x1.75 or higher) - would they fit??? Tyres are a 26x1.5 chen shin for now
  11. I thought it odd, but the Cyclelab website refers to them as Junior tubes...hmmm. I have just bought 26x1,5 chen shin slicks, and was hoping that my existing tubes would fit for now...I have currently 26x2.10 tyres (Presta width) with a 27.5 tube inside i think....bike was secondhand - no clue what was inside. I was trying to avoid buying more tubes just yet lol
  12. Hi there, 1. Why are 26x1.5 tubes referred to as junior tubes? Its so confusing for new cycling fans who are not juniors... 2. What size tubes can I/should I buy for 26 x1.5 tyres? Decent slime ones... Can you put a slightly bigger tube inside that size tyre? #Moderatelyconfused (Sorry for all the doff questions)
  13. Howzit guys, I have a choice to buy one of the following, which would you buy: - Giant Cyclotron Mag Trainer (Blue) - Secondhand - looks pretty decent from the pics. R700. Guy says its only been used 3 times. OR - Marvel T1 from Cyclelab - New - looks awesome. R999. Can't find any other info on it. I'm abit skeptical about both...for various reasons. (All I want is a simple, non-expensive indoor trainer that I can use when the weather is shitty...) Any advice well received.
  14. Side note: Its a Scott Aspect 630
  15. I find this forum very useful - thank you 1. Riding on the beach on Sunday and changed from 2 to 1 (on the chain ring - where the 3 sprockets and the crank is) and the chain came right off the cog. Was floating between 1 and 2 and crank was just spinning. Got it back on and no more issues. 2. Training yesterday and did the same thing 2 to 1, but this time the chain started to move down onto 1 but jammed. Crank would not turn forwards, back-pedalled and the chain sat back fine - then no more issues. Is this a chain problem or sprocket/chain ring issue? Had a good look and the teeth on the sprocket all look different and the chain looks like a chain to me. (I had to Google the terms )... TIA
  16. Hi Guys, Have a Scott Aspect 630 with Schwalbe 26 x 2.10 tyres. Current inner tube is a 27.5 with a Presta Valve. What do I get as spare tubes? Struggling to find the correct size and width inner? Sportsmans is no help. Thanks!
  17. Hi there, Which number is the serial number on a Scott MTB? I can see a few different ones on the underside of the bottom crank but not sure which one is which!? Tx
  18. Hi guys, another doff question but I entered the 55km Tour Durban event and saw that there is an MTB part. I only have a regular bike for this. One that only has a fixed front and back fork. Will this be okay? Or do I have to get a special bike? I did the 35km Amashova on this and it was awesome.
  19. Hi again, I entered the Tour Durban 55km race???? but I have never actually mountain biked. There are 3 sections of mtb off road, do you have to do any hectic downhill off road stuff? I think I'd be okay with the generic off road stuff lol.
  20. Hi guys, which bike would be better to buy: entry level Avalanche or entry level Titan - both MTB? Entered the 55km cyclocross Tour Durban race - need suitable wheels now...
  21. Hello My name is Catherine. From KZN, Durban area. Love cycling and the feeling of flying through the air - freedom. Gets rid of all stress, just getting used to the idea of being a super early bird rider, as I usually ride in the afternoons. Looking to travel permanently in the near future and following some epic bikers on Instagram getting ideas of where to go and where to ride. Nice to meet all of you
  22. Black Friday - hmmmm. I would probably take the refund and go and spend my money with the local bike dealer - the guys that need the support the most. I don't trust specials...let alone Black Friday.
  23. I have IBS, thats why I asked Albeit, at least I know I am not alone!
  24. LOL, thank you! I was half expecting mayhem but this was very entertaining
