Good day all, I want to get a new set of tyres for my bike. I'm currently using the Merida Race lite's which the bike came with, but I'd like something different. I'm quite keen on a Conti Mountain King in front and a Race King on the rear. Any other suggestions? I'm doing a race tomorrow which should be pretty muddy. Any help would be appreciated!

Had the same dilemma this morning. It depends on your budget. If you're going soft-tail, then don't go cheap. I'm in the price bracket of a reasonable hard-tail and the lower end soft-tails. I decided on hard with decent components. I'll probably buy a soft-tail frame in a few months.....

The Merida is a great bike. Got mine a few months ago. Very happy with it but may be looking to sell it soon as I want an upgrade. Let me know if you're interested.

I only buy from Brad or Fred at Gecko Cycles at Cape Gate. Their prices and service are unbeatable. Going to buy another bike from them soon.

Got myself a Hydrapak Streamline from Chris Willemse 3 weeks ago. Has a 2L capacity and keeps everything ice-cold. Plenty of storage space too. Best R299 I ever spent!
