  1. All 8 events i have taken part in have had at least one table with a gel or bar and they have cost less to enter then RFS R20-R50 cheaper . Maybe i expected more . Ride for sight had boerie rolls and chicken burgers surely you could get some gels and bars.
  2. Howzite Guys I Really enjoyed the race everything was on point i rode in group JL I was looking to do a good time for seeding for the 94.7 but mange a 4.50 took it to easy in the first 45km. Only two things that got to me One the reckless rider that cause the serious accident with a lady on a bianchi about 10 kms in from group JL And secondly the refreshment tables had no bars or gels Those rolling hills with the winds of helderberg got to me
  3. Is there a link? i did not receive it only the voucher sms
  4. Howzite The hub If you could choose one of these tyres MAXXIS DETONATOR WIRE BEAD VS Chaoyang Speed Shark for a alternative to gatorskins wire bead. Both of them are R150 at my local bicycle shop so one pair is R300 one gatorskin is R450 Which one and why Please keep in mind that these tyres will be used for training so got to be budget friendly
  5. i really need to change my gearing from 11/25 to 11/28 for those last hills . next year problems or this years christmas box
  6. Thanks For all the Info My Race went well not the sub 4 hours but at least there's next year I managed a 4 hours 50 mins felt very strong till kyalami, time was about 3 hours 10/30 mins my watch died just after that i bonk and cramp up so bad i had to walk the last bit of the mine shaft if i am correct the up hill after Kyalami. And then my sufferfest begin all the way home. it was extremely hot and i got 9 shades of sunburn . I met a lot of cool guys And Thanks to the lady that gave me a gel at the top of mine shaft that saved me from completely going in to the danger zone My only complaint is that some riders were very reckless and i saw 3 accidents that should have never happened. This also lead me to ride solo very early and in to that awful head wind which was my downfall as i pushed a losing battle there . . Overall Great Event my first 94.7
  7. I don't know if this was in group HH but there was a huge crash in the beginning when you just past the first mat about 20 guys down due to a guy racing in and did not brake or clip out in time when we were doing about 7 km/h. . It made me very anxious to ride in a group . I experienced a lot of bad cyclist yesterday you not going to bloody win the 94.7 from hh . I managed a 4 hours 50 mins felt very strong till kyalami, time was 3 hours 10 mins then i bonk and cramp up it was extremely hot and i got 9 shades of sunburn. Other then the bad apple cyclist i met a lot of cool guys. Overall Great Event my first 94.7
  8. Howzit Guys How tough would I find the 94.7 as a newbie? My expectation to finish under 4 hours tough or can it be done? My starging group is HH Riding on road bike (ORBEA 10 speed ) Considering my training I have done in the last 3 month at least 2/3 times a week avg of 105 km a week . and every 2 second Saturday/Sunday 70 kms My route is a 35 km ride that takes me about 1 hour.20 mins with 2 climbs/hills with Elevation gain 1.189 ft My Elevation starts on 3200 ft on both climb/hills ends at 4300 ft MY 70 km route is a loop and i finish in 3 hours What are the tougher sections on the new route? any advice will be much appreciate
  9. good day to all what tyres do you recommend for training on my road bike 23c that wont break the budget of R350.00 . are there any good cheap tyres ?. what wheel set do you recommend for training i have nice set zipp for race events but i don't want to damage them unnecessarily with the poor road conditions and long training.
