  1. Good value for money this šŸ‘† and within budget.
  2. OK I'm ready to pull the trigger after doing my due diligence (bloody time I know). So took the initial advise to consider the old-school Polar V800 and managed to find a near perfect example on the hub which the fellow hubber sent to me without any collateral to check out if it's what I want or return if not. (Kudos to Greg Kappers of KAMBRO COTTAGES from Graaff Reinette You're the man!) The V800 is awesome but has no wrist based HR monitor and its very bulky on my arm so I will be passing on it. I then got a great deal from my local Solomans on a FORERUNNER 45S (R2500.00) which would've been the one I was going to buy and then get the addition HR strap so I can fit the watch to my MTB bike when I came across a clearance sale from my local Totalsports on a POLAR VANTAGE M - R2 249.95, brand new! Final Question - Forerunner 45S or Polar Vantage M? My need (not greed - Garmin Phenix 7!) is wrist based HR and pairable with HR strap so that watch can be transferred to MTB handle bar. Simplistic functions, I really don't need more functionality than what the FORERUNNER offers. Thank You ALL it's been a great learning curve! Cheers!
  3. Thank You ALL this has been very helpful. Also now considering just a bike computer given the one hubberā€™s input. All in all Iā€™m 90% decided. Cheers!
  4. Thank You guys for the advice thus far - VERY helpfull. Keep ā€˜em coming please Iā€™m taking notes.
  5. Iā€™m in the market for my first ā€œtrainingā€ watch and as the topic suggests Iā€™m not after the most expensive watch out there but rather the basic yet cover it (almost) all need to haveā€™s like HR and GPS. More like the Corolla of the watch world vs Bentley. Lastly is 2nd hand an option? Budget is R5k. TX!
  6. Stolen: BXT Carbon hardtail No markings matt black 2020 When: 04/01/2022Where: , George South, George, Western CapeMatt black hardtails with bright green syncros rimsGet further details about the incident in the Stolen Bikes section.
  7. Long shot - Does anybody have a 3 pawl shimano freehub that will fit my DTSwiss (syncross) hub? Willing to pay. Drop me a DM on 082 923 6300. Thanx!
  8. Ready for the long and winding gravel roads in George. My Silverback Sola 1 build onto carbon BXT frame. With some ā€œupgradesā€ along the way..
  9. ā€œiā€ to all of the above, except (maybe) fart guy????. Personally I find it annoying when you are riding service road/jeep track and the local training squad comes from the front and bears down on you without an inclination of pulling to the side. I usually slow down and pull off to the side. Is this a hierachy thing?
  10. Being relatively new to the MTB scene I have a question regarding cycling etiquette - as the topic heading suggests, what are the common ground rules when going off road on your MTB? I guess that rule #1 applies for starters...???? All input will be appreciated to minimize frustration and undue carpark confrontations????.
