I was cross last year when i went go watch this crit. First got there super early and went for a row boat ride with my wife, didnt end well, then i was so looking forward to seeing all the teams on a level feild, IE all with the same amount of riders, onlyu to discoer that the bigger teams still managed to enter 2 teams and left the smaller teams taking up the rear(pun intented)

Chyna. stuff E-mail its too easy for them to BS you, rather phone em and start screaming and shouting, add tears aswell, then mumble "this is too much" cry some more, then sit back and wait for your number to be delivered to your door,

Before it gets too nasty, why not phone the organisers and state your case maybe they will see the light

If Everyone adopted this mindset, how would young up and coming riders get noticed, some guys shine in an event of this nature and might not be in teams, but now wont get a chance to ride....what is their reasoning behind this? Also why do they bother making it teams of 5, if the bigger teams just enter two teams?

Hehehe, Just joking Bud, As far as i am aware, they cannot turn you away for being an individual rider...unless they make their own rules at this event?

Scared that the seeded group might give you carrots?
  9. Its getting better now hey shooo, I also think that SA cycling has a huge amount of potential, but like everything it needs to be guided by the correct people, people with a solid passion for the sport and people that are not concerned with making huge money, perhaps the powers that be should watch the Enron movie, has anyone seen it?
  10. Nice, 60 views and 8 replies, some very negative people on here. Perhaps if the SA cycling community moaned less we would be in a better position. CBR400? nice
  11. He-he, funny man, well look on the brightside, he is being punished for what he allegedly did and things should be getting better with regards to doping
  12. Agreed, we have some very decent teams and riders, Neotel, MTN etc etc. Look at guys like Nolan Hoffman ultimate proof that guys like him afre not just there for the "token value" and given a chance alot of riders of colour can succeed.
  13. With all the bad happenings in SA cycling. Lets try something new, A positive thread focussing on the good things in SA cycling. I will start. We have lovely weather and.....and....um.....hmmmm.....NEXT
  14. Okay so the smoking issue has been cleared. Next, why do cyclist have such low muscle mass. If you take someone who is 60Kg with a bodyfat of 10% and max power of 2hp. Then take someone who works out at gym and weighs 100kg with a bodyfat of 10% and say a max power of 5hp. With this they would have roughly the same power to weight ratio, which would mean the big guy is safe on the climbs but on the flats he should ride away from the smaller guy??? Please understand i am asking these questions to learn so please dont be rude Vittel2007-09-25 10:57:58
