Hi "Matchstix", Unfortunately I was the guy who took the tumble. I merely went down that hill too fast for my skill level ! Shyte happens. I can't remember / recall what happened at all. I only gained conciousness in the ambulance about 40 minutes after the incident. Apart from a bruised face, sore neck and head, damaged rotator cuff and 3 broken ribs nothing serious is wrong. I just want to say that the race organizers were absolutely awesome !!! Farmer Hendrie Brink stabalized me and called the ambulance. Gabri Steyn sorted my bike,helmit,glasses and Garmin. Kevin Woods was personally in contact with the wify all throughout the morning and the other two gentlemen also called a number of times to find out how I was doing.Felt like a pro rider or a celeb Big up to these guys !!! To top it all I was offerred a free entry for next year PS : Any Hubber with a set of side-wheels I can borrow for next year

Must be one of the best mountain bike races in the Western Cape. Definitely a must do ! Absolutely awesome route with a lot of variety and very well marked. Great experience. Well done to Petie and his team.

I am an old ballie weighing 70kg's. Did 2011 Epic on ST 26'er. Switched to 29'er hardtail exactly two months before 2012 Epic - NO PROBLEM.Had a great ride.

I am keen to determine whether my new bike computer measures distances correctly. It measured the 100Miler as 163.72km on Saturday. Any other measurements to compare ?
