That I think was also due to tyre slipping around the wet grass off camber corner into the bridge. He had the skills to correct being off balance on the bridge but just not quite enough, at the top his he was still too much to the left. If it was me I would have went into the side of the bridge at the bottom or I probably would have fell on the corner.
So I think it is good that N1no won, a true 100% mtbiker who is dedicated to mtb only. Respect! N1no also had his moments, but I think it was always those Aspen tyres loosing grip on corners or else being rammed by Fluckiger which I think was the result of N1no barging his way through in last year`s WC. I just don`t see N1no ever going down like Gaze and MvP does.
I think he was being slack with regards to track prep. He was the only 1 who was unaware of the drop being changed for the race. He thought there would be a bridge behind the drop so he thought a dropper is not needed. Yet I suspect he might have made the drop if he had a dropper, the high seat just threw his wait forward enough.
Gaze and MvP both have great mtb skills, but they seem to be prone to mistakes or lack of constant concertation. MvP`s fall at the Olympics was also 1 of those bad lack of concertation falls. That course required a dropper for that drop and he had no dropper and so over the bars he went.
I do carry a quick link but never needed it. I have never seen any of my fixes break, maybe I am just lucky, but I have never seen the the same link break twice. I have even fixed other people`s chains like this, and they are always amazed that their chains are solid after the fix.
I have broken a chain a few times out on the trails. I have never used a quick link to fix it. I fix it by screwing out the link`s pin a bit and then screwing the pin back in. I have never found this to be a weak fix, never did the chain break again. People are amazed when they see this, but it works, no quick links required.
It seems like he has grown up a bit, more humble now after some hardship. Just like Rissveds, didn`t like them before but they both seem to have learned to be more humble.
Sam Gaze, what type of crash was that? He overjumped and went skew at high speed over the jump. I hope is ok, he looked strong, but it seems like he has a tendency to hug the ground badly. It was not like a Nino fall slipping of tyres, it was like trying to show how not to take a jump demonstration.
I thought why are they showing the tree hug incident again? It was not a replay, he hugged the same tree again on the next lap just to be sure that the tree is happy.
Pidcock did too much road riding this season. ElNino deserved this win and the 10 titles, greatest mountain biker ever. He is trying to still beat Abselon`s record but I think Nino had much more stronger competition to get his wins.
