  2. Hi Guys, myself and cousin have entered our first Argus this year. We are intermediate MTB riders. We just bought our first road bicycles last week and are starting to train for the Argus. Can anyone suggest some training techniques and tips for first timers. Also if we could join some of you guys for some Chappies rides etc that would be amazing. Appreciate it, Regards Shaun 0724354423
  3. Missed it, please if anyone wants to drop out let me know. First timer Shaun 0724354423
  4. Hi Guys, I am desperately searching for a second hand dual suspension 29er, size Large. Started mountain biking this year, on a hardtail, love the sport. Myself and rider buddy want to start training for Sani2C in December, but we need dual suspension bikes. For some reason the second hand market is booming and bikes are moving like hot cakes. Please if you know anyone or see a Large dual suspension XC/trail 120mm travel dual suspension bike, budget around 25k, please let me know. Will also start another thread in a week or two with advice on training/tips for Sani2c. Thanks a lot. Shaun 0724354423
  5. Would yo u Guys recommend a 2018 Scott Spark 950, its in great condition. It has 2x10 drivetrain which i guess i can upgrade. It has the Fox 32 Rhythm upfront which is the same as the 2021 Scott Sparks for nearly double the price? I am just worried about weight as i have heard the only thing wrong with these bikes is they are heavy. Id like to do XC/trails and some beginner races in the future. Regards
  6. Thanks guys, what about a 2015 Trek Superfly 7 FS
  7. Hi Guys, Looking for recommendations on a new bike. (Sold my hardtail and would love a dual suspension). My budget is less than 25k. Style:Cross Country and Trail Riding. Size: Large Possibilities i have come across 1) Scott Spark (Older models and Newer models are similar priced?) 2) Merida One Twenty or 96 3) Silverback Sido 4) Giant Anthem 5) Older Specialized models I have been using a 2013 Scott Spark 900 SL, bike is also available to buy at Bike Market, price is 23k. It has really nice components and is full carbon so it weighs nothing, but the frame is quite scratched and bike is 7 years old. Really appreciate the help.
  8. I am taking the Scott 900 to try out this weekend will let you guys know how it goes, also any recommendations on trails, we have done Northern farms, Huddle park and Delta Park. Really appreciate it.
  9. Thanks for the input man, I am looking for a Large and also needs to be 29er and not 26 as the Giant you posted. Appreciate the help. A spanner in the works, speaking of smaller wheels, i did see a Large 27.5 Pyga thats basically new for 26k. But im guessing that is more for enduro than trails and xc.
  10. Good to know, i tried a much newer lower spec Scott Dual Suspension at the the same place they have the 2013 900 Spark, it felt a lot slower and sluggish and cheap. I am looking for a dual suspension, but thanks for the heads up on the trek. Other bikes i have found in the 25k range: (Other than the 2020 960 Spark and 2013 900 Spark) 2017 Scott 950 (This looks nice but is a 2 x 11 drive train). 2018 Merida 120 600
  11. Thanks a lot bud, would you or anyone else recommend a place to take the bike to fix the carbon frame? Apparently im looking at 2-3k?
  12. Thanks for the advice, i will look out for a Vipa. The bike just has quite a few scuffs on the frame and crank. Suspension feels great and the bike is super light. The salesman has a newer Scott 2016, same price but he is saying to me you cannot compare the two bikes, as the only reason this is 22k is because it has scuffs on it. The nice thing is, i can take the bike for the weekend and try it out and if i dont like it i can take it back on Monday no questions asked.
  13. Its from Bike Market, they say it is all serviced, good to go. Can take the bike for a week and if i am not happy i can bring it back. Also they give me 3 months warranty on the frame. The only thing i didn't like on the bike was the handlebars, even though its carbon they are quite narrow. Coming from a hardtail 7k bike this thing feels like a dream. Was just thinking if for 22k can i get something better as a first dual suspension. Appreciate all the help, Regards
  14. Thanks so much for the feedback guys. These are the specs:
  15. Hi Guys, i am new to mountain biking. Started this year on a hardtail and have been really loving the sport. Sold my hardtail as i want to get a dual suspension. My budget is not great, i would like to spend less than 25k. In that price bracket there are not many nice new dual suspensions so i have decided to go 2nd hand. I found a 2013 Scott Spark at a bike shop, the bike has a lot of scratches but rides really well and has great components, SRAM brakes and groupset 1 x 12, and its full carbon. They want 20k for it. I am looking to keep it for about a year, i dont think it will depreciate so much. Is this a good deal, they have newer Scott Sparks, 2016 and 2017 for around the same price but they are aluminuim. The bikes frame is very scratched, was thinking to respray it but the guys at the shop say its no point. I want to do XC and some trails, Thanks for the help, appreciate it. Shaun
