  1. Hi there DieslnDust - I'm almost afraid to ask this 😞 but here goes. I was just about to order the greyhound grease you suggested. Apparently Lithium based grease is not good for rubber seals though because it is petroleum based. I'm concerned about damaging the outer seal on the free body. Any thoughts on this? Is there a reasonable silicone alternative? Just checked the price of SRAM butter - R250 for 19ml!!! crazy.
  2. Hi there, I need a “light” grease for my Lyne high engagement hub but don’t want to pay the earth for something SRAM Butter. Any suggestions for a more affordable alternative that I can get from Builders or something? Thanks Adrian
  3. This helped me sort out a very irritating problem I was sure was BB related. “You can take a look at the BB then slap yourself because it’s never the BB…” and it wasn’t in my case
  4. Thanks Johan, I'll be checking this out soon!
  5. Thanks for this advice - it got me thinking. This weekend I attempted the Tokai Mast climb after doing a full silvermine loop. I had to stop a few times and walked a bit but got it done on tired legs. https://www.strava.com/activities/14088489837
  6. Silvermine looks good. A good stretch target I think would be Newlands to Silvermine, then finish off with the mast. Let's see.
  7. Thank you. Re Paarl mountain, do you have any routes you could share for safe gravel roads with climbs? And to I need a permit for this please? Many thanks Adrian
  8. Hi there. I live in Blouberg and hope to do my first 36One this year. I’m no super athlete. I have done a few 7h sessions with around 1400m elevation. In my next few long rides I’d love to ride a few more long gravel type climbs compared to tygerberg trails that are loaded with micro recoveries etc. any suggestions? Are there perhaps a few groups doing training rides together? Thanks, Adrian
  9. Thanks, I've seen this before. But the N1 is much quieter on the weekends. Mid-week, there is much more traffic on the road but I'm still a little nervous about considering this.
  10. Hi all, I need to return to the office and used to commute from R27, N1, Woodstock to and from the office. This route has not been safe lately. I'm just wondering if anyone has comment on the safety of this route during peak traffic times (say 07:00 and 16:00-17:00). When there are more cars on the road, I suspect there would be significantly reduced risk of attacks. Any thoughts? Thanks Adrian
