  1. Hi there, I have entered the PPA One tonner race. I am wanting to join any riders that go out on training rides over the weekends? Mainly road rides for the Cadence and to put in the distance. I am doing the one tonner on my Mountain Mountain bike and would like to put in some good hours on the bike. I reside in Southern Subs. If anyone could also give me some good pointers on how to improve my training for this race I would greatly appreciate it too. Thanks:)
  2. Hey I like the response and some great idea's coming from everyone. I will say that Tokai is an amazing mountain to riding on always nice and busy and their are always friendly riders most mornings (Sat,Sun) who always greet and are always willing to help out. Would be nice if they could stop felling so many of the tree's up there as it is a B ***ch to climb the main hill and other sections of the trail that have had the tree's felled away:( Not nice and cool get's flipping hot man. And I think if they could accomodate for rider types with proper signage up it would help those Novice/recreational riders have a sense of the route they are taking and the distance too:) I am not sure what other MTBikers think I would like to know.
  3. I am loving the responses here and some great points are coming out:) Loving it
  4. Hey, I like the idea's coming round awesomeness. I like the idea about putting signs up with different colours on them so you know as a new rider to that trail which route is easier one to difficult and tech. And the distances of each route but also my an advantage too:). I am going to contact the Wild Parks. ( San Parks) and see the response that I get from the suggestions from everyone's points made on this topic. I know many of you think aaaahh nothing will get done. But, at least it will be a stepping stone forward. And I know alot of you take this topic as a joke and want to get your popcorn out,WATCH a difference will be made on the Tokai trail and maybe they can impliment the plan to other trails and new trails.
  5. Hey guys I agree with alot of you on certain pointers and they are valued I will so that. But, wouldn't it be nice if there was sort of structure on the MTB as to who has right of way. Mr 16V shot for not taking abuse from other guys that like to swear at a lady on the mountain. I think that it is shocking that some guy's say that to us ladies that ride. And yes we can take it but, in some cases it is not necessary at all for that type of language on the mountain. Especially for the fact that families ride there too. It should be just common sense sometimes when riding where to ride and get off and allow for others to pass. It's funny when night riding everyone seems to be nice and cautious too and each party gives way, No why can't it happen in the day light.
  6. Hey I think alot of people have very valid points here. But, maybe simple is better and that keep left when going up and allow fellow riders to pass on your right coming down. I just want to enjoy my riding up at Tokai and not have people thinking they have the right of way and want to argue about it on a ride. NOT COOL AT ALL:) And I think then maybe another sport is for you maybe EFC fighting since you have so much anger. The bell idea is a good one actually but, on a Mountain Bike I am not sure. I might work for some and not for others. Maybe a polite passing right or coming passed is fine. I think the single tracks need to be sign posted as directional signs and a rule as to who has right of way where. Make life much easier for everyone. Especially for new comer's to the sport/hobbie:)
  7. @ Morewood I agree with what you are saying and I think that it is great the AMA Rider are helping the trails all over as we would not be able to do the sport/hobbie we love Mountain biking. I dont agree that someone coming up a single track has right of way. They should be looking and checking all the time for someone or a group coming down. As they will be coming down alot quicker than you coming up. That is just common sense. I would always move out the way of someone coming down the single track, and then persue my route onwards. The main hill, Single track at tokai is for MTB who only ride DOWNHILL and they flipping fly over those jumps and that course. And I would not dream of riding up that single track incase of a collision that could happen and that would not be pretty. I think their should be signs saying which tracks are one way and which are two way's and if two ways who give's way to who. Only way we can all ride in a nice environment and enjoy ourselves at the same time.
  8. Hey I totally understand that this is an endless topic but, I am wanting to do something about it. As it is flipping dangerous at times when riding and people don't know which side to stick on. I think at the bottom of the gate where you sign in on that sign their should be another sign stipulating how one should ride and be curtious on the mountain as it is only so BIG. I think that some of the guys need to learn to controll the words they use on the moutain, and telling a lady to ****off is not really nice at all plus she was coming down the single track and to me coming down you should give way as that person is much faster than you coming up. But that is my opnion I am sure their are plenty of others. I just want to enjoy my riding at tokai since it is on my door steps as well as many other riders and it's nice to let people starting out MTB how the rules work on the mountain.
  9. Hey Just wanted to do a shout out to anyone, who know's if there is such a thing as rules on the Moutain. With regards to how we ride. E.g. Coming down single track you are coming down do you A) Give way to the person coming up or B) You have right of way or C) You both move to the opposite end to allow both riders to enjoy their ride. I don't know how anyone feels about this but, I get lanked annoyed with people up their sometime's. Just get's one very frustrated on their ride. I think that Tokai should start putting rules up saying when riding up the mountain you stick left and riders coming down stick right. And when passing someone you pass on their right etc. And some sort of rules for the single track as well as it is nice to do single track going up or down. I am just putting it out their let me know your thoughts:)
