  1. Surely you could run much lower pressure for kids that size? On my xc bikes I run 0.8-1.2 bar, if I’m planning to ride more on tar then I’ll run 1.5 bar
  2. They are all nice bikes. I really wanted a spez enduro but then I ended up on this path. The warranty from trek and the weight benefit of being full carbon are definitely the main attractions. The uniqueness of pyga and the fact that’s it’s local is awesome. I haven’t properly back to back tested them yet but they both were nice so far
  3. Not sure what you’re asking, are you familiar with claiming VAT back on items though a company or are you just asking bike related?
  4. Agreed but the issue is if you break it, you may break yourself at the same time.
  5. Just finished building this up, second hand frame, cranks and the remainder of the XT groupset I had lying around. Brand new fox factory 38, XT brakes on deore 4 pot calipers, MD 35 wheels. The one up 210mm dropper and the bars came with the frame. I do have an XT cassette but unfortunately was unable to get a microcline freehub for these hubs. I do have some new tyres I will slap on shortly.
  6. Finally got the pyga all together, my dad claims he’s not happy with the slash so it seems I may take it over and sell the slackline.
  7. Trek wolvespruit have a large carbon XT slash still
  8. Would that be the alloy or the carbon one that is breaking? I’m going to test back to back a bit, there is one more large carbon XT version identical to what we bought this morning. So if I feel the trek rides far superior then I’ll maybe go get that
  9. I highly recommend taking a look at treks sale. Most xc bikes are sold out but a lot of longer travel bikes are still there for half price, some less and some more. There is no way you can get such well specced bikes for these prices.
  10. Decided to keep the pyga, if my dad doesn’t like his new slash then I’ll maybe take that over.
  11. That’s another question I can’t answer
  12. Morning all, so I’ve just built up a pyga slackline, it’s well specced with brand new fox factory 38, 4 pot XT brakes and wheels on a second hand frame. I haven’t even gotten to ride it yet as the wheels only arrive today. I was a trek last night and they are having some insane deals. I can get an alloy slash (previous gen) for 40k with gx groupset, code brakes and ZEB select fork. Claiming VAT back and it’s 35k which is mind boggling. I’m going this morning to purchase one for my dad, but the question is, should I get myself one too? If I do I will probably go for the carbon one as that’s all they have left in stock in my size. I love the pyga but the warranty is very attractive on the treks and I would be paying less for a brand new bike than I can sell my pyga for. I may want to keep my fox 38 for the trek if I go that option though as I in anycase have warranty on that. Trail/enduro people of the hub, what’s your recommendations?
  13. Thanks ,I’m going to change out the fork for a new zeb ultimate and planing on an xo transmission when the winter season is over next year. (UDH being a big reason I went for the pyga) haha but the enduro is still a fantastic bike
  14. Thanks, I already got a pyga skalckline though. I seriously considered an enduro and i absolutely love how they look however I was approached with a deal that worked well for me for the slackline. Maybe next year I’ll upgrade to something new and fancy, hopefully there’s a new enduro by then
  15. Ahh ,my mistake. I do however feel more comfortable on an alloy set. Any recommendations on something that won’t break the bank? Are the lyne amp alloy 30 up to the task?
  16. My main thing is I’m too scared to hammer the carbon rims, I ride far more carefully and less aggressively on rough terrain with carbon rims, I guess mainly because somewhere in the back of my mind I know the carbon ones are a lot more expensive to replace. Is it not that the xrc 1200 is for xc and the xrc 1501 is a trail wheelset? I’ve seen them specced on a number of trail bikes up to about 160mm and on the DT Swiss website they are in the enduro category
  17. So I made the move and went for a pyga slackline. Getting it next weekend, I’m just looking for some opinions on wheels. I’m going to put my DT Swiss xrc 1501 wheelset on however I’m a bit concerned about damaging them due to the harder nature of riding I’ll be doing. I know they’re marketed for trail/enduro use however I’m a bit worried. so should I keep the DT Swiss wheelset or sell them and get a pair of alloy rims that I’m not scared to batter? I’ve looked at the lyne amp 30, would that be a suitable wheelset, or should I just stick with my current?
  18. Just box it and bring it, the likelihood of anyone checking is extremely low. Just rub some dirt on it before if it is new so then you can just tell/show them it’s yours and is “used”
  19. Thanks, this was very informative. Got me considering the enduro some more
  20. Very nice, I dig that colour scheme
  21. Thanks, that’s something I never considered
  22. I want to get something that will provide me the most fun and speed possible. I’m no racer but I wouldn’t mind trying my hand at an event or two.
