  1. Initially the problem wasn't that bad and I thought it would take some time to get accustomed to the new shoes and then my injury happened to much time passed before I rode again. After my long break due to injury I tried to start cycling again but now they are extremely uncomfortable.
  2. Haha I use to cycle all the time and then I switched over to offroad motorcycle racing which requires a bit more muscle mass. Then I got injured and couldn't do any proper training for a long time. Plus I am just getting older can't eat what I use to. So yeah I weigh about 25 kg more than my good cycling years. Unfortunately I don't have the finances to get new shoes now so I am trying to address the issue if possible.
  3. Well then I should go back to Shimano. I have Ryder now and I have had them in the past without any problems. Will have to test ride the next pair.
  4. Unfortunately I don't think inserts will help. I have custom orthopedic inserts and they don't even make a difference. The cover is also still there. It really is a weird problem to me. Can shoes really be so badly designed?
  5. Hi everyone. So I got new SPD shoes in 2018 and since new they have been very uncomfortable. Specifically they feel like the pedal and the cleats are pressing on the ball of my foot. It is also gets worse when I stand and ride. I have never had this problem and it just keeps getting worse the heavier I get. I have tried moving the cleats backwards but it does not remove the problem. Has anyone else had the same experience before of know how to fix the issue? Any help would be appreciated as I don't have the money to buy new shoes now.
  6. Actually got the time from FS cycling president and the winning time was about 2h 20 min. I did 2h 46 min I just wanted to gauge how far I was behind the winners.
  7. Anyone knows who won this race that happened on 22/02/2014 in Bloemfontein? What was the winners time?
  8. That really sucks. My one friend was hijacked there and shot in the leg. The dude is ok now. I was just fortunate to have cycled that route for two years constantly without problems.
  9. Did not except so many replies in one day. As I started the post I will give my best times. Burger cycle tour 2010 (98km) in 3h 27 min and 2011 Argus in 3h 32 min, this was also my first Argus. Not great times but I for a novice I think they are ok.
  10. Damn I wish I was that fast :-)
  11. That's not my intention. Would just be interesting to know who is fast. Maybe get some advice and tips from the guys who are actually fast. I am not that fast but I keep struggling with injuries.
  12. So who is the fastest guy and girl on the hub? I am talking of people who are not Pro riders. Post some of your times from any of the well known races in SA. You can even brag if you want to :-)

That's a pity. I am also thinking about getting cyclocross wheels as where I currently live I cannot train on my hybrid and my MTB sucks so I do not enjoy riding that very much.

Just figured out how to post a picture properly so I added my photo again so that it displays correctly. Mine is not as nice as Gummibears' hybrid but it still rides quite nice
