  1. I weigh 68kg, and bike weight therefore makes a big difference to me.. Not much left for me to lose ito body fat, but shedding 100grams off your bike (at a cost of R1000 / 100grams) here and there make a HELL of a difference. Wheels first then move onto handlebars / seatpost / stem etc. Groupset can can also save substantial amount, but then the cost per gram saving goes through the roof. Problem is the old saying: Light / Cheap / Strong ( choose 2 of these per component! )
  2. Definately not a scam becuase their systems work well to process your credit card details :-) but I am having a query for them to change my training plan. It's been a week and nothing. Either they are incompetent or understaffed. - most probably both I wouldnt even begin to think of asking for my money back!!.. that will most probably take a month.
  3. Well, I have sent 3 mails since Sunday. All I need them to do is to change my plan. (they allocated a 16 week plan, but I need a 24 week one to slot in my partner also doing the epic.. its been a week... Jeezus, I am sure with a bit of effort world leaders can plan WW3 in a week!
  4. hehe, I mean the area is secure... not the 'bike rack' as such. I also had a look outside (at the back by the station's side) That might be a better option. mmm ... ok.. so now I wait for early morning sunrises
  5. This is great news, I appreciate it. Are you able to PM me their names? It would be great to make contact with them if possible. (with their permission offcourse).
  6. Which way you coming from? Are you also considering cycling to work? I better take a 'lease' on one of those bike racks it seems. What have I started!?! LOL!
  7. I just took a walk to the gym area. the 'bike park' has space for about 4 or 5 bikes. It does look very secure. I am just wondering how quickly these spot will 'fill up' in summer, and what the hell do you do when there is no open slots. Anyway, at this point it's just an idea. I am not sure if I will attempt it... might have to do the route on a weekend to check out best (safest) way to do this. Thanks for the input guys. I am hoping someone from side of the boerewors curtain will see this. always better to ride with someone. The best part is, in summer, the South Easter will be on my back! lol.
  8. it's a 26er, but it's a scalpel. mmm
  9. Yes, I was thinking similar route. thanks for the info! I will have to join the gym. I reckon with all the stops and it being peak time, I will most probably have to bargain for about 90 minutes travel time one way. and also make sure my hospital is still in place!
  10. Hi guys, I live in Durbanville (Pinehurst) and would like to *attempt* to cycle to work (Mutual Park, in Pinelands) during the coming warmer months. Anyone else out my way Durbanville Surrounds (AKA Cycling Mekka) that's currently doing this (or has in the past) ? Would like to know: -best routes -where to bike park (safety?) -shower (I suppose I will need to join the gym for this) -etc. Thanks in advance!

  12. Hi, What do you mean by "executive" tour? How many riders do you anticipate joining? Would the accommodation be shared? Are there any medical assistance part of support? Looking forward to your reply.
