  1. i may look well, skinny but i am quite fit, besides the cold, the race was easy. but yes i will train and continue training

  5. lol i was wearing short cycling pants, a short sleeve cycling shirt, no beanie, and short socks
  6. i came first in my category, and general position 11th. started at -5C man my fingers have never been so sore. i know it may sound unmanly but i almost cried from pain, and i'm no soppy. i'm going to wear long fingered gloves next time not normal cycling gloves honestly it was a wonderful ride, once we were out of the winter wonderland forest... i'm looking at doing the legend, in 2 weeks time maybe the 40km.
  7. well tomorrow is the big day, bike cleaned. crunchies with extra energy baked, now for a good nights sleep

  9. i don't mean to sound obnoxious, but i'm pretty good at staying up right, even when i have one foot stuck in the clasp and i have to run/hop alongside the bike at 35kmh, luckily i did manage to get back on but it was an interesting experience

  11. we have 2 car gps's garmins... i'll see how long it's battery would run for as i can't charge it while riding... if that doesn't work then i'll just use my bicycle computer... speed, avg speed, distance, time riding etc
  12. unfortunately my parents said no to the 45km... so its off the table.
  13. thanks guys for the advice.... i have decided that i'll do the 25km and go flat out... i honestly doubt i could do 45km and finish strong....and my parents have said no to the 45.???? as this is my first long race... i've done a 10km before.... so yea i'll let you guys know how it went... i hope i win....what can i say i'm being optimistic
  14. hi there guys i'm going to be doing a MTB race next weekend. i know that i can handle 30km relatively easily, on a fairly flat single track. now for the they have a 25km and a 45km, routes. the 25 has a an assent of 500m. and the 45km has a 700-800m assent. mainly dirt farm roads. here are the routes. please note the 30km is now 25km. http://www.mountain-trophy.co.za/route_info/ which one do you think i should do .
