  1. Hi, I am busy re-building my 16" Schwinn Moab 2 for my daughter who is 14. I am stripping it to the frame and rebuilding from scratch. This bike gave me 7 years of awesome riding so part of the mission is sentimental I want to get the frame resprayed. Can you please recommend someone and indicate the cost. Thanks SurfRat.
  2. Hi, I am busy re-building my 16" Schwinn Moab 2 for my daughter who is 14. I am stripping it to the frame and rebuilding from scratch. This bike gave me 7 years of awesome riding so part of the mission is sentimental I am looking for a soft front suspension fork for someone who weighs about 50kg. Coil or air will do but if coil it must be soft as most coil forks are too hard. The bike originally had a Rock Shox Jett which acted as a pogo stick and was not very good. Specs: 26" wheel (no 29'ers back in the day) 1 1/8" steerer (28mm) V-Brake posts 75mm travel (or their abouts) Distance from bottom of steerer to wheel mounts 45cm. This will determine the front ride height\angle Thanks Surfrat surfrat77(at)gmail.com
  3. OmegaMan what am I looking at price wise for a FF helmet and a brace. Please give me links so I can have a look...
  4. I found this http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=34441 which is only 55 pounds...
  5. Options 2 and 3 won't happen so I guess it's go big or go home....
  6. Thanks for the input. Bummer... I was hoping to be able to use a neck brace with my XC helmet. The problem is that I do a lot of trail riding (up and down) which includes hectic downhill sections. A good example is Tokai. Up on the road and single track (only up on the single track early in the morning on a week day 6am and then the blast down all the single track with most of the jumps included. I will overheat on the uphills using a full face helmet and to be honest look a real arse I regularly wipe and have perfected the art of the roll but I am not as young (now 46) as I used to be but still love the hectic downhill sections. Time for the neck brace guys to design a suitable brace for the non full face helmet crowd.
  7. Hi, I have a trail style mountain bike that falls between a downhill and a cross country style of bike. I ride with a standard cross country style helmet. I am riding more aggressively and taking on more jumps and feel that I need a neck brace to help with those big hits. Has anyone tried a neck brace with a normal helmet (not a full face helmet)? Are they still effective? Recommendations? Thanks Mark.
  8. any chance of a guy joining you... Thought I had packed my lights away for summer Cheers SurfRat
