  1. You clearly didn't read my first comment on this post explaining basically why 27.5 is a GOOD choice for this bike. I never said it should have a 29 inch wheel. I explained why XCO uses it. To make it extra clear, I think a mullet setup on an e-mtb is a brilliant idea. Ok I agree that 13 riders isn't really enough data, but I thought since you said I should do it myself 13 would at least be better than one? Just go do your own research online and you will find plenty of proof. Don't take my word for it. What I am interested is how are you convinced that a 29 is not any faster? Please share your findings and try to convince me instead of just saying I should go do experiments. I am a man of science and happy to have my mind changed if you bring me the data.
  2. I don't have to. It has already been proven scientifically numerous times. Here is one such study you can have a read through. https://www.hrpub.org/download/20171230/SAJ3-19910597.pdf
  3. Yes, thats because a smaller rear wheel handles a bit better going downhill. I was saying it is slower rolling, there is a difference. You can say no speed penalty as much as you like. It won't change the truth. XCO bikes use 29 because it rolls faster on the terrain they are used for.
  4. There is no debate that on uneven terrain a 29 inch wheel rolls faster so saying there is no speed penalty is not true.
  5. Yep well spotted. Even the geo is identical
  6. It’s an e-bike so there is no drawbacks of the smaller wheel having slightly worse rolling resistance and the advantage are better handling at the rear for descending as well as being able to handle more torque. Basically mostly same reasons why motocross bikes have had this same setup for ages already.
  7. What about if you want to try and improve the seeding you already received for CTCT?
  8. Does "Premier seeding event" means it should be included in this list of events https://www.capetowncycletour.com/lifecycle-week/ctct/pre-race-information/seeding-and-seeding-events/ ?
  9. I improved my FTP by 13% in 8 weeks on trainer road adaptive high volume training, so it definitely works very well. This was when I was spending 90% of the time training indoors. The very big caveat with the adaptive training at the moment is that it does not consider unstructured outdoor rides to count towards your progression. So if you go for a lot more rides outside the program starts to fall apart because it would think that you didn't do anything that day and the program won't adapt accordingly. It does however support structured outdoor sessions, so if you have a power meter and you follow the TR session outside it does consider it, but It doesn't take the actual watts data into account, only the RPE questions at the end and the fact that you completed the workout (not ideal at all, but still much better than you would do on your own I suppose). The positive news is they are working on it as a high priority feature - https://support.trainerroad.com/hc/en-us/articles/4404974155675-How-to-Use-Outside-Workouts-with-Adaptive-Training
  10. Here is the GPX file from the 2022 event. TIP: double/tripple the amount of sealant in your tires and take 3 large bombs and probably a HV hand pump if you can. activity_8908568696.gpx
  11. Good evening everyone. I am the seller of this item in discussion. I feel this post is defamatory to my profile on BikeHub, since my profile can easily be found with the screenshot posted as I haven't removed/marked the add as sold yet and this is not a true reflection of our conversation. This is the very first time in my life of selling something that the buyer was unhappy. I believe that my add was not misleading as the fork does have the remote lockout damper and there isn't a lever on any of the photos of the add. The lever has always been a separate item in my mind. The Reba in discussion is available with two types of dampers - either a manual lockout or a remote lockout. The intention of the title was to indicate which one I am selling. After the buyer received the fork today and was upset that the "remote lockout" was not included, my first response was that I am sorry for the misunderstanding and he is welcome to send the fork back if he is not happy and I will refund him. His responses were very aggressive and threatening as I was trying to explain that the fork does have remote lockout. I am willing to refund him because he is unhappy, although I am not legally required to, but not willing to refund the shipping as the add was not false advertising as he claims.
