  2. While on the topic of storage Any idea where i can find a simple 4 bike stand such as this one : http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=39579 ?
  3. I think CWC should add a 'complete bikes' section to the online shop, would certainly do well
  4. Let them know maybe they'll give you a voucher
  5. Hahaa thankfully i wont have to resort to those measures 1:Bikes From cytek/Merida themselves: Guess il be waiting then 2: Online shop Will be sending a courier on monday to pick up the wrong items and deliver the correct ones Was sorted out efficiently
  6. Will give them a call and ask whats the story...They dont sell direct to the public though im guessing?
  7. hmmm i wonder.. :/ they told me they have contacted the supplier and no one has stock of the 903, not even other shops that the supplier has sold to have any left Will give cytek a call
  8. Have tried phoning but they were closed..have emailed them and will see how they deal with the issue..If its not dealt with well will name n shame. Have heard many good things bout them and everyone makes mistakes so il give them the benefit of the doubt
  9. I guess the bike yes thats the suppliers fault stock low recession etc.. But sending 2/5 wrong products on an online order? 40% wrong items? That cant be blamed on the recession lol Zernie , will consider CRC as well now when purchasing online, reason i havent is with all the import duties and extra to pay its just easier to buy locally
  10. Having recently gotten into road cycling, this has been my experience. 1: Ordered 2 bikes from a reputable store. One for my brother and one for me, two different models of the same brand. (Merida road race 903 and 901) . Was told the bikes need to be ordered, so they send through our measurements and the supplier picks the size based on them and sends them the bikes. Only one (the 903) was in stock, drove about 80km to pick it up and another 80km back home. The 901 was received in stock about 2 weeks later, parents were going to be in the area so they picked it up and brought it home, now noticed somethings majorly wrong. The bikes were the wrong sizes, the bigger bike (M/L) was meant to be for my brother (901) , and the smaller (S/M) for me (903). Ended up being the opposite way around, with the 901 being in size S/M and the 903 being size M/L. Which was a bit of a problem. Apparently the suppliers made a mistake and swapped the sizes/models around. Decided to keep the M/L 903 for my bro since we had already used it, and swap out (with extra payin) the S/M 901 for a S/M 903 for me. This bike is apparently now no longer in stock , and it going to take almost a month till they receive stock of the 903. In the meantime, I've still got the (waiting to be returned) 901 at home. Have asked to be given a 2nd hand bike to use for the month, was told they would get back to me by end of yesterday, still waiting for the reply. 2: Ordered 5 products from a reputable online cycle shop. Picked up the package from the post office today, Two out of the 5 products were the wrong items. Had ordered black pedals, received silver. Had ordered a wireless speedo, received the wired version. Im used to spot on delivery of products when ordering PC parts and the like online . Am i just very unlucky?? Or are these type of experiences normal in this industry??
  11. Lol thats a bad quickfix...black sticker on the white rim :/ I'd rather have alexims
  12. Mine says Alexims too! Merida 903-18
  13. Aah okay...No issues, i was just wondering. The rear configuration is as per the picture on the website though, would have thought both would have been the same for aesthetic purposes
  14. Hey guys, Ive bought a new Merida 903-18, and comparing the configuration of the spokes on the front rim of my bike to the picture on the Merida website, there seems to be a difference. My bike: http://i55.tinypic.com/bg205h.jpg Website: http://www.merida-bikes.com/en_za/bike/2011/132/Road+Bike/RACE+903-18 http://i55.tinypic.com/2dsfn21.jpg Would the shop i bought it from have installed the spokes or who would have? Is this a problem or should i just let it be?
  15. hmmm interesting. I shall follow the classifieds closely for a while , thanks. If nothing turns up though, will probably end up going for the Merida. Also been quoted for a Scott speedster s40 and giant tcr 2 for 7.2k and 8.8k respectively.
  16. Hey I've been getting into road cycling recently and its time for me to buy a new bike. I like the 2011 Merida road race 903-18 (black n green) , got quoted R7.8k for it from one shop waiting for feedback from others. Before I buy it, wondering whats the opinion of you more knowledgeable guys on this bike? Any other bikes in this range that you would recommend over it value for money wise?? Perhaps with a 105 groupset opposed to the tiagra this comes with. I dont mind the tiagra, but perhaps the 105 is a better option in the long run when i become more serious about cycling. Not looking to spend too much for a carbon frame and the like, this is my first road bike. Thanks
