  1. Hey man, If my 2cents help, id definitely go for a softy for your kind of riding. And your boss may have done the epic... fantastic. but for R20000 you can definitely get an awesome dual suspension. He sounds like the man with all the gear no idea. Id also look for a 2011 bike, they normally drop the price right down and you'll still be getting a fantastic bike with all the warranties service etc. enjoy!!!
  2. Hey Guys Anyone heard of or have any information on Nokian tyres? ive never come across them. My tyres need replacing and ive been offered brand new Nokian Gazza NBX lite 2.2??? for R300 a pop. Seems pretty good for high rolling less resistant tubeless tyres??? any info would be appreciated, shot.
  3. Hey man, from my side, thats a good price but maybe you can squeeze it a bit. My mate bought that bike a few months back and paid R5000 too. Good strong entry level bike, cant go wrong. Its done full Hill2Hill and plenty big races without a problem and he weighs about 90.
  4. Chicks just dig it... bottom line
  5. Hi guys, last night some guys broke into our yard over our gate and wall and jacked my bike off my bakkie. Luckily they left my new one which was locked but my old one gone. If anyone sees a mongoose tyax super with a suspicious rider please call me Shaun: (083 225 3310)
  6. I think i prefer a 26', ridden both. im now keen on the Giant Anthem X2??? ANy thoughts? Compared to the Trance X2. Im 85kg and enjoy the social rides plus the odd 40-60km route. I do enjoy technical rock gardens etc and Cascades in PMB is a favourite playground!
  7. Hey guys So I know the topics on 29er vs 26er are huge but now I need some real advice. Ive decided I want a 29er Full Sus... I think or a 26er full sus! The dilemma! I have budgeted R20k and the options so far are the GT Sensor 2.0 26er (R17k) or the 29er R21K. the other rad bike is the Trek hifi Deluxe for R23ish. Its pushing me amount wise but i want to get a good strong bike. Any thoughts or convincing me would be good, Im a student so smashing this amount of money is going to be hard!!!
  8. Hi there guys Im pretty new to mtb and im really getting into it. Im using my old Giant Boulder and would like an upgrade. Im a student so huge amounts of tin aren't available. Ive saved +-R6k.I would like to buy new. Ive looked at the 2010 Mongoose Tyax Super which seems to be great value for money & Ive looked at the 2010 Giant Terrago Disc which also seems really good. Main difference i noticed was the Rock Shox on the mongoose compared to a Suntour, I hear Rock Shox are better but im still new and have no idea. Also the difference of SRAM and Shimano? Apparently similar specs. I know there are millions of bikes to choose from but those 2 Im keen on, suggestions or anyone agree or disagree? Much appreciated
