I polish aluminium often for my Honda CR projects (swingarms etc). To get the factory look I polish the aluminium up to a shine (which does seal it - the molecules are actually re-aligning with polishing), and then I lightly rub the extrusion lines in using WD40 and scotchbrite pads. You can clearcoat after this.

Hey DB, checked that corset out, looks quite sweet. Do you get them locally? Coming off a coil bike it might be a good purchase.

I too decided to pull the trigger on a new enduro rig for next year, the D8 was just too much bike for some of trails. I must say thanks to Mike's Bikes for hooking me up with an awesome deal, I was actually deciding between Pyga and Banshee, and then Mike offered me a NOS Bronson aluminium frame at a great price. So here's something a little different... http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k500/RedLadder/DSC_0198.jpg
  6. Guys our mate Cobus Truter is looking to do the DH Masters at Andorra in August. If you know him, you know his bikes are rough (sorry dude, they are - I've heard that DJ fork clunk next to my head), and how he still cleans up on those machines is somewhat of a miracle! We need to raise R30 000 and some gear, spares, bike, kit, will all go a long way to helping us send this hooligan to go represent SA over there. I was thinking we could do a pump and jump jam, to raise some funds. This is a small fraternity gents, and I'm calling on the local guys and stores to lend a hand. Are you guys in? Can we do this? James maybe a PWC pump track race, or Mike maybe at your store? Go to the Mountainbikers do it downhill group on FB and look for this post. Thanks guys, every little bit will help, and I have every confidence that he'll shred the hell out of Andorra! https://www.facebook.com/groups/24917535701/ and here is the Indigogo link to donate to the cause : skimp on the carguards a couple times, save hundreds, donate those savings to someone who would probably be more grateful https://life.indiegogo.com/fundraisers/1348792 Thanks again dudes, dudettes.
  7. Dial'd are the agents - and VXi are in stock.
  8. As always amped to come ride the green stuff in KZN - makes a welcome relief from the brown stuff seen in JHB See you guys on the trails!
  9. Looks great! Love the inclusion of jumps and gaps - its what makes these trails fun. I'll be keen to come up - a few of us have been following the KZN calendar and make a weekend out of each trip.
  10. Sorry, stance explained better....
  11. That allroad would be on air ride-so you can slam it for show and then lift it to drive with a flick of the switch. The Canadians do it best stanceworks, canibeat etc is a scene with slammed/stanced cars. I enjoy the look because it makes the cars look like the original concept drawings. Back to bikes....
  12. Nothing beats print media while having a poo
  13. Being a VAG and Knolly fan, this is one ideeeeeal setup... http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m130/kwaterbury22/allroad-side-knolly_decal.jpg
