  1. I didn't realise you could get a romin mtb saddle... Will take a look into that. Bike shop doesnt allow saddle tests, so struggling to decide!!
  2. Advice needed... I have been struggling with knee issues. Saw a biokinetisist for an accurate bike set up. There were a number of things wrong with me physically (sigh!), and also the set up that had been done on my bike previously. The first thing wrong was my saddle! I was using a 130 saddle, but the specialized pad goodie says I should be on a 155!!! I have done some reading up and it sounds like the Specialized Phenom is pretty good. My LBS is recommending the Henge Comp. I really don't know what would be best. I want a comfy saddle that won't cut me in half, so i don't mind if it is a bit heavier than most. Ride enjoyment is key, i'm by no means a racing snake! Any advice or suggestions? Oh, and i'm limiting myself to Specialized mainly because the bio recons they are real quality and are leading in their technology....
  3. So, to summarise... These are the good tried and tested combos? And, to save additional weight I can go UST at the back and a regular tyre converted to tubeless (ghetto style) at the front...?
  4. Flip, you need a degree in Tubeless to understand this thread! Good reading though... I am running tyre liners and slimed tubes, with crossmark tyres. Considering the tubeless option, are the tubless crossmarks any better than the normal ones?? As they sucked in the mud this weekend!
  5. Thanks for the help! Didn't manage to check the Felt out this weekend, the shop didn't have stock. But from the sounds of it...it sounds like the best deal. Yeah and I saw they are also sponsoring the top female triathlete, so their stuff must be decent.
  6. Thanks! I will go take a look at the Felt this afternoon. I've heard that the Giant frames are better, is that something I should be concerned with?
  7. Hi, I am looking to buy a road bike. I started MTB last year and did the Amashova. Planning on doing the Argus in March and the odd other road race, and then using it for early morning training. So not super serious. Got two options. Felt F85 with 105's for R8500 or the Giant TCR2 with Tiagra for R7650. Will the 10 speed Felt be worth the extra bucks, or should I go with the tried and trusted Giant? Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. Thanks, Derick
