  1. I'm keen for this race...but HAVE YOU SEEN THE PROFILE?? 2600m of climbing is no joke...seriously
  2. Recently ordered and busy reading 'The Paleo diet for athletes' from amazon. Some interesting stuff! Reading the book it does make sense! Eating to reduce imflammation and reduce acidity in the body... Any thoughts/opinions/experience eating this way as a person who enjoys endurance sports?

Approx 12 weeks to go... How many hours per week do you okes train? Need to overload those legs...but not burn out completely... tough balance to get sometimes!
  4. Maxxis Crossmark/Larsen combo do the job? Need something to inspire confidence...
  5. Thanks B-Active. Good to know! I'll definitely be entering now!
  6. Agreed that the running out of water at Suncoast this year was poor! Surely organisers were aware of how many entrants there were? And how hot it was going to be! I had no water after 5km of the run and it was seriously cooking!! Midlands Ultra could be on a scorching day, and you can'e exactly run back into transition to get water bottles...so I seriously hope the water issue is sorted by then!! like I said though it looks like its going to be a great event, I hope I am not disappointed!
  7. Haha No I meant TO DRINK, will there be enough water supplied during the race?? Believe last year ran out... Sounding like a great event so far though!
  8. Out of interest, how old are you Super J? Disc degeneration is 'normal' to a certain extent. Your body undergoes wear and tear. if you do proper core strengthening I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to ride. Hopefully you are on a dual suspension bike though! (or are you a roadie??!)
  9. I never eat before a morning week-day ride. Sometimes feel hungry before I get out the door but 20 mins or so later and the hunger is gone! Would rather have the extra zzzz than the chow! Plus I figure if I train on empty then in theory I should be that much stronger when I ride on fuel...??? Am I way off the mark on this?
  10. Ya flip Durban is apparently going to be 12 degrees tomor a.m!! that's cold...SERIOUSLY!! (it feels A LOT colder; no lies!)
  11. flip is that all?? maybe hill2hill was just more spread out!? It is nice to have some challenging climbs though I won't lie.
  12. Anyone know the total climbing in the 60km? It was an AWESOME route but there was a lot of climbing; I swear more than in hill2hill 105km even! just interested to know the meters... Anyone ??
  13. Great thanks I just hope I'm not expected to ride like him since I wear similar gear I'm more of a chicken-run kinda girl...maybe these amazning guards will give me the confidence I need
