  1. Stolen: Scott Spark Contessa 710 2017 When: 10 March 2018 Where: Western Cape We were watching the XCO World Cup at Coetzenburg and chained both our bikes to a steel balustrade, during the race we happen to walk past our bikes to watch the finish of the women’s race when I noticed that only my bike was still there, unlocked with the cable gone and also the Scott gone. My bike was left unlocked, just standing there and I suspect whoever took the Scott was about to return to get mine. We called in security and they tried their best to try find it but no luck. The worst is that we are due to ride the Cape Epic on these bikes in a week, so we hope to find a Small Scott Spark Contessa to get setup for Jess. Get further details about the incident in the Stolen Bikes section

  5. Those using Marine Drive, do you use it coming back after work as well? I am commuting from Town to the suburb for work and used it coming in, but it is quite sketchy to use Marine Drive as it joins the N1 at around 6.45pm when I get there so not sure what to do, do not want to use the cycle path that time of day. Is there any other options? I don't mind using the N1 to Marine drive at 5.30am in the morning heading out but it's coming back that's a bit dicey.
  6. Hi Keegz92, I ride a CAAD 12 and I can tell you I really, really like it. Can fit 28c tyres, so any harsh riding can me muted easily and I like the internal cabling vs the EVO. Same geometry as EVO and a treat on the hills. Can't go wrong with it.
  7. You will have to start saving for one then. http://keyassets.timeincuk.net/inspirewp/live/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2015/11/Sagans-winter-training-begins-in-Belgium-Sagan-Twitter.jpg
  8. Wanted to ask who of the hubbers have a Niner RLT and what build? Looking at the Sram Rival build, any input or other options. Also looked at Giant TCX. Budget around R40k. Or Bowman Footscray import and self build. Just toying with ideas... thanks.
  9. Hi all. Sorry if I wasn't clear from my side. They said they would replace it and give me some new Conti's and that happened on the day they said. That they did and gave me some brand new hoops and a set of GP4000's. So it all worked out well and I am happy. In fairness it can all have happened quicker but when you read through the tread we all know that people make mistakes and this was handled well in the end so all I can say is that it ended well and I trust they learned from the experience. Sorry for keeping the hubbers in the dark, I thought it was enough when I said they will replace them. But thanks for all the interest and the input, I really appreciate it. Just a sign of the passion that drives Bikehub.
  10. I haven't been following the race that actively, well the build-up of it. But seems like a beast of a ride and moerse respect for these guys. I just wondered, what happened to the $1m prize purse? See its now R35k for the winner! Reckon there is plenty easier ways to make R35k, these guys will have close to R35k of bike expenses post this race.
  11. I cannot comment on that accurately as I don't know. But I do know they sent the pics to Coolheat to find out from them. So I assume under warranty.
  12. Cool. Just to give an update, there has been plenty of interest and that just goes to show the passion we all have here on Bikehub and what a great platform this is. So have spoken to Chris in some PM's and he said new wheels will be on it's way on Wednesday, so all is well. This took longer than it could've, but mistakes are made and corrected, well will be. Thanks for all the interest...
  13. Thanks for Chris, chat tomorrow. Recover well and have a good evening. Bernard
  14. Thank you Marnitz. I appreciate the response and look forward to talking on Monday.
