  1. Jip. I sent email and they reopened entries ... Sent from my SM-J500F using Tapatalk
  2. Entries on Cycle Events for Fast One already closed even though website states they close tonight at 23h00??? Am I missing something here? Sent from my SM-J500F using Tapatalk
  3. Possibly .. but probably too early in the race for proper sleep deprivation. Maybe dehidration ... Sent from my SM-J500F using Tapatalk
  4. In fact, last year one of the development riders turned around and rode 30km back to an RV because they forgot to sign out .... I guess these things happen. Sent from my SM-J500F using Tapatalk
  5. Ja nee. Surely he should have known about the RV and the importance of signing in and out (never mind eating and filling up) ... Sent from my SM-J500F using Tapatalk
  6. Probably a 2 hour lead at most. Not that significant in this context. But it's defendable. You don't get a 2 hour lead by being a weakling .... Sent from my SM-J500F using Tapatalk
  7. Travelling light! Sent from my SM-J500F using Tapatalk
  8. The tracking site has the full route. Race villages at VDK, Britstown, Loxton, Sutherland and Ceres. Sent from my SM-J500F using Tapatalk
  9. If history is anything to go by, the finishing rate will be about 50%. Last year a third of the field threw in the towel on day one!!! Sent from my SM-J500F using Tapatalk
  10. Make peace with the wind. It is going to blow, and mostly from the front. Make peace with it BEFORE the start to avoid mental meltdowns out in the sticks... Sent from my SM-J500F using Tapatalk
  11. Population of the Karoo doubled for 5 days ... Sent from my SM-J500F using Tapatalk
  12. Absolutely! Sent from my SM-J500F using Tapatalk
  13. Aero bars were very useful to me. I spent more time in aero position than not. Aero also gives your backside more than one position for some relief.Contrary to belief, the Munga roads are not that bad. The farm jeep tracks are quite rough but they never last for too long. And believe me, if those headwinds start blowing, you'll be very thankfull for the aero position... Sent from my SM-J500F using Tapatalk

  15. Howzit Slowbee! You will have no problem on a full sus 26er. Don't worry about the bike any longer. What you do have to worry about is training. 30 min IDT sessions are simply not going to cut the mustard 4 months before the Munga. You need to start doing 200km+ rides in August to start adapting to the stresses of riding day and night. For August start with 6, 8, 10, 12 hour rides on consecutive weekends. If you are not used to ultra distance racing you will need to do some epic rides over the next 3 months to prepare physically and mentally! Sent from my SM-J500F using Tapatalk
