  1. What a day! Wet & windy. My face felt like I was being slapped with a fly swatter with the hard rain. To top it all we started 10 minutes late, put the hammer down to catch the back markers and at +/- 3 Km into the race a guy in a bakkie informed us that we were goining in the wrong direction. Back to the start.....and....we started again. The race felt like a day on the Orange river, without a boat. Very well organized despite the VERY BAD CONDITIONS!!
  2. Well Mr BUSTTHESICKNESS I see you did not take up MARTIN HATTINGH'S challenge of whipping your ass. So I ask myself..... are you as good on the bike as you claim to be or are you just a MOAN GAT? Then I did some inquiring and I see that you only joined the hub in Oct 08 and you are already an ULTIMATE HUBBER with no WILD CARD. mmmm.....Therefore there is no doubt in my mind that you are just one big MOAN GAT!! However, if you decied to take up the challenge please let me know as I would like to book my place on the bridge (WHICH IS THERE TO STAY, SEE OPINION POLL!!) And watch Martin Whip yr ass. Seriously, stop moaning and be a part of trail building. Cobus Pienaar and his team give it their all to make it better for all of us and they have done wonders. Mail him and give some input he will appreciate it. Cheers
  3. Not a good situation at all. I hope it doesn't hit us here in the WC. Soon we will be trading in our mountain bikes for indoor spin bikes.........what fun!!
  4. Hey Rick, Good thinking and well done on your actions!! Its almost 14 months since Glen's accident and Brian's death. Same scenario, only the guy was drunk. I remember being so shocked with the news that I sold my much loved road bike the next week. This is happening too often now. That Oukaapse Weg is flipping dangerous. I have seen many cyclists almost taken out going up. Last week a car gave way for a motorcycle moving into the yellow line and missing a cyclist by a ball hair. We need cycle lanes like they have in Europe. When we were at the Tour de France last year, we rode for100's of Km's in a safe cycle lane. HOWEVER this is South Africa and it will take a 100 years for us to get adequate cycle lanes. The only solution is to sell your road machine and stay on your mountain bike in the mountains!! I have no regrets selling mine. My condolences to Craig and his family. May he rest in peace.
  5. Not only a great rider but an inspiring individual to many. Go Luthando Go!!!
