  1. Greetings fine people of the hub. Has anyone out there had repair work done on a carbon wheel? I have a small crack on my Zipp 404s where the spoke joins the rim and need to see about getting it fixed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  2. Thanks Bontie,

Searched the hub with no luck, but will keep digging.

Used "The Google" as well and found the US site, but not local agent was listed on their site that I saw...

Any other ideas? anyone know the mysterious Stellenbosch agent?

Please Agent Hubber find me, i want your product... :)

  3. Hi all,

My brother in law is starting out with the whole cycling thing.

I have arranged a bike, he has a lot of the stuff he needs, except one main thing, people to train with.

Is the anyone on the hub that knows of group rides in the Richards Bay/Empangeni area, or people that are willing to take him out for a pedal.

He is a beginner so will not be taking on the cycling world just yet.

I am unfortunately based in JHB so difficult for me to help out more than with parts and kit...

    Let me know.

    Thanks

  4. Rad I saw a lady at the Epic who broke a spoke on her rear wheel. I think her weight was about 55kg.........

Epic did a bit of damage to these, lady I was refering to managed to destroy the inside of the rear hub, killing pedaling ability and essentialy ending up with a free spinning hub, both directions.

  5. The improvement of seeding is a slow process. Ride, get a good time, get a better group. Ride again in new group get good time, get better group.. and so on and so on. Simple realy. I went from R to C in sequential 94.7's now VA (I hope)... its a process

Here is a novel idea for us, why not just enjoy being out on our bikes, in the beautiful contry, enjoying the blue sky and the wonderful surrounds, air in lungs (maybe a bit poluted, but...) and blood in our veins..

  6. one of the reasons the topic was posted is due to that there is no diffrence (in the scott bike at least) between the mens and ladies. This makes one wonder how much diffrence there realy are in the WS designs. Or is it more cosmetic in the end of the day?I can agree thatsmoe shorts gloves and shoes might be diffrent' date=' but how much diffrent in the end of the day?

And there is only one way to find out, head down to your LBS, slap on a pair of Ladies shorts and head out for a 100K training ride. One of two things will happen...

    1. you will love the shorts so much and your will change all your shorts to ladies...smiley36.gif

    2. You will chaf away bits that you would rather not chaf away.... smiley36.gif

  7. Most of the women specific bikes/saddles/gels/gloves/tubes/lube etc is just a sales gimmick. And most people fall for it.

    Yeah well....

Honestly, yes some ladies may fit on to the standard Geometry and the standard gloves may work, however, of the shorts, saddles, shoes, etc side of things, most women prefer the ladies designs.

There are basic physiological and biomechanical differences and thus there is a need for two different designs.

Unfortunately most of the generic Billy's that work in bike shops don't actually know how to fit, sell, or even explain this and thus you still find a lot of guessing and misunderstanding going on.
