  1.

how often do you take the cassette off?

Depends on how dirty the bike is. MTB generally bi-weekly unless i have managed to keep it clean. I seem to manage to get dirt in to all sorts of parts. The only way I seem to get it properly clean is doing that. Also take the crank off every now and then to get the stupid grinding sound out.

Road' date=' cluster comes off bi weelky aswell depending on how much rain and dirt i get thrown up.

I am a bit of a clean freak so...[/quote']how long does a bike clean take you then ?bi weekly ? thats alot - I mean how much timedo you have on your hands?Confused

Yeah, like i say depends on how clean i can keep it. a clean generally takes me about 30 mins...

  2. Seriously' date=' something is amiss if you have to take your cassette off that often to clean your bike.Actually, reading most of these threads, it's not surprising a lot of you guys have so much **** with bikes and components, seeing as you fiddle un-necessarily with them so much.JB needs to line the lot of you up and smack you all with a heavy tome of common sense...

  4. I like good old fashion Wynns engine degrease for chain and casette, but i take then off the bike first.

Have also tried an aerosol spray degrease, worked great, but very expensive for the amount of cleaning i got out of it.

  5. Mookyspunky hows the flavour for you? Bought some to try over Dec on training rides' date=' think it was the Naartjie, but could not handle one sip, it was horrid. Is there a chance that the stuff was dodgy or something because man...[/quote']

    Hi Pickled smiley1.gif

Are you referring to the Bmax Enduromax? I prefer the peach flavour, yes the first time I tried it I wasnt that keen on it because its almost like a milky juice (like tropica)...its not watery like most other sports drinks... But you get used to it, and It really does me good on longer rides (compared to when using other sports drinks like USN cytomax and Staminade Endure etc)....

    Its all personal preference tho....

Yeah, thats the one. I just can't even drink the Naartjie, heck the smell when you open the packet is enough to send you running. Ah well, i guess the hunt continues for the perfect drink.

  7. No, not a post about seats... smiley36.gif

Ok, have what i think is a 350mm seat post. it is currently at the minimum level that needs to be in the bike. Can you get a longer seatpots? like 450. is it a standard thing that shops hold, or is it a special order??

  8. Also went to Aaron at cyclefit.

He moved my cleats on both road and MTB, changed road setup a bit and man O man felt brilliant. The issues that I had, after going for 2 previous setups at a bike shop, were cleared up in the first few rides with the new setup.

I would recommend him to anyone, Brilliant!

  9. Rays park is legendary!!! http://www.raysmtb.com/Looks like so much fun!! Perhaps a couple of hubber so club togheter and we go buy a old wharehous/airplane hanger somewhere and build something like rays park. The problem I have is' date=' Geoff thinks high = technical, which is not so at all....Vaulter1 that R1995 for how many entries would that be? Why don't they make it like a gym subscription, you pay every month, if you go you go if you don't it's your loss, but it's a flat fee ever month.

The year plate (1995) has unlimited entries, only the others are number of entries.

  10. Ok, fine, I understand the cost. It can be expensive, equipment, staff, etc... i understand. But if you chase people for money, at least have a system that makes it easy for people to order. I tried for a week to order a photo. At the end i got told, hey don't you want to phone back tomorrow, seems we can't do that for you now. There is actually a photo I want.

  11. Yeah not too exciting... stoped by the Specialized stand... SL2 Yummy... I want same!!

Got there about 9h45 and got throught the place quick fast. Got to see the BH stand aswell, also very nice stuff. I was not too blown away by it. They could have done quite a but more.

Started in Q last year, got 3:00:17...

Had a bad year in terms of training. did VERY little training...

I found the trick, just rode my own ride at my own pace, if that was in a group great, if not, didn't care... Had the best ride of all my years doing 94.7
