HI It seems like 29ers have really gotten into the market now and theirs quite a lot of models. I am thinking of buying a scott scale comp,gt karakoram 1 or giant talon 29er1. I would like to use one of these for xc. Are any of these any good or should I just get a scott scale 70/aspect 10. Thanks

I like momsen but the flash is sort of superior! Got a lefty fork and its been proven to win races. I like the lefty fork and choose it over the rockshox reba anyday!

Hi All bikes feel different so it is useful to test them out at a shop but my reccomendations are as follows. Gt Zaskar: probably one of you best picks. Unfortunately the carbon one is a bit more expensive. Comes with a rockshox sid fork, good components(sr x9) and has a light frame. Scott and merida are overpriced bikes. You pay only for the really good frame and get a **** fork. Would reccomend the scott scale 29er comp though. Good value for money and seriously light for a 29er. Top notch quality too. Momsen also makes a mean 29er: the Al329. Awsome fork and just as light as the scott 29er. Nice components and good local service. Also love the frame geometry. Try some of these bikes and see how they feel.

Giant has a fox fork and the silverback a rockshox reba. I'll take the fox fork anyday plus the full xt componenets and a more aggressive riding style frame. Try and get silverback to service your bike in SA. Good luck with that! Giant has the best service.

Hi What would be a good xc race bike for under R8000. I currently have an avalanche atx 575 but don't think it will survive a race. I am thinking mabye a GT avalanche 1.0, karakoram 1.0, zaskar, serfas xcr1 or something along that line. I think they all pretty gave good forks and am really specifically interested in the karakoram as its a 29e and comes with quite an awsome fork. Any reccomendations and suggestions of bikes would be awsome. Oh, no full suspension... it feels weird and does not accelerate that well. Thanks Dylan
