  1. Still looking ... anyone feeling like a long lie-in instead of rushing up Helshoogte? Feeling a cold coming on perhaps? Let me know!
  2. Premium will also be paid!
  3. Hi all, Also looking for 2 entries for Die Burger road race.
  4. Exactly where my chain dropped too - over hasty down shifting and could not get the chainring to grab chain again - felt like a compete idiot as you come to a dead halt when this happens on an uphill.
  5. I had exactly the same sub3 goal (before I saw the wind forecast) and result of 3:30 also in E. It seems the weather plays a huge role not to mention chain coming off twice. Lets hope we don't get three windy Arguses in a row!
  6. This happens far too often and always in the same place. The kids do it just for kicks and to see if they can get something valuable from the rider. I have been involved in one of these instances too and I know of several other that have been attacked. My advice is carry mace, expect the worst and try not to ride alone - anyone else in the area who wants to ride together is free to contact me. These hooligans make communiting very hard though and I have almost stopped communting for this very reason. I hope Erik recovers soon and completely.

Did anyone see the incident on Saturday morning (about 10:40am) on the R44 at the Helderview turnoff where a silver Toyota Tazz knocked me off my bike and then sped away? I was cycling from Somerset West to Stellenbosch. The Tazz is a Somerset West car. Please pm me if you it or if you have any ideas who owns this car. Luckily I am not too badly injured but this kind of reckless and criminal behaviour must be acted upon!
  8. Thank you Rick A for doing what you could. It is both sad and angering that Craig died like this. To take you eyes off the road and run over a cyclist at high speed is infinitely negligent. There is nothing a cyclist can do to avoid that kind of idiot. What a waste of a very sharp mind and what a loss for Candice and the two live-wire kids. Be ultra careful out there whether you're on your bike or driving a car!
  9. Its great to see so many hubbers with an appreciation for our reptiles. They really are an exciting aspect to the thrill of MTBing in Africa. Boomslangs are regulars around Jonkershoek but nromally move off very quickly. Its nice to be able to see them going about their business undisturbed so relish each such ocasion.
  10. This is a Berg Adder (not a puffy). Does anyone actually know of any MTBer actually being bitten by a venomous snake while MTBing? Snakes are really not worth worrying about - you just need to keep your eyes & ears open and give them their space. Oh, and practise your bunny hops!
  11. Excuse my ignorance but what is 2k clearcoat? Is it a brand name and if not can you supply one?
