  1. Yip .. CIPRO data would be interesting ... then, surely cyclingSA financial statements should be open to members, right? If so, then there must be some payment to HighOrbit for the hosting of cyclingSA website ....

Was advocated on TV that CSA is a very transparent organisation and therefore they will publish financial statements on their web-site. Looked a week or so ago and no financial statements after some questions were asked. Why?

Who cares who owns myrace. This is the second year it is a shambles. Last year the big chief did not want to know of potential myrace problems and was hell bent on continuing with them? Even after many people voiced their dissastisfaction. Everyone else was steamrollered.

Read somewhere that the big chief should resign from his well paying lekka travelling job should the problems not be sorted out. Why no resignation yet.

What was the specifications of the system and the procurement and tender process that was followed.

Like the tender process in respect of hosting SA Champs that had to be implemented by the big chief  which was never implimented and the decision was taken by big chief himself irrespective of the fact that two other provinces were not given the opportunity to "tender" on the tender process which was not implemented and was not followed.

  2. "Despite some isolated cases of delayed delivery of licence cards, we?re fully behind our new online membership/licensing system, myrace.co.za. We?ve traced the hold-ups in the delivery process to being largely from clubs to their members.

We are doing our best to educate clubs with regards to the new system so that they can get the licence cards from their provincial governing body (where CSA sends the cards to) to their members.

If it wasn?t so costly, we?d courier cards to every single applicant, but we?re using our resources and budget as efficiently as possible and it?s up to clubs to commit their support to the new system to ensure it works as smoothly as planned."

How can you so blatantly blame the clubs while all of us know the problem is on your side with your crap system.

THE BIGGEST JOKE IS WE HAD ANOTHER ROUND OF DELIVERIES. AFTER THESE DELIVERIES SOME OF OUR MEMBERS HAVE 4 [FOUR] LICENSED CARDS. WHO WILL CARRY THAT EXPENSE.

IN THE PREVIOUS NEWSLETTER YOU ALSO BLAMED THE CLUBS. PLEASE ONES AND FOR ALL ADMIT FAILURE ON YOUR SIDE AND STOP BLAMING THE CLUBS. GET OUT THE COFFEE SHOP AND INTO YOUR OFFICE, ROLL UP YOUR SLEEVES AND DO YOUR JOB.
  3. Saw some dude on a mtb at 19:30 in the pitch dark on a busy road being escorted by some dumb ass in a jeep (fly girl) obstructing the traffic at 17km/h. No wonder motorists are so aggro towards us. Complete with lights. Ride on the pavement it is more fun.

  4. Napalm what is your position at CSA as it seems you have a lot of inside info. Why are you so quick to defend CSA?

Does the following look familiar.  ""If you can't get people to pay for what they love, we're all out of business."

This seems to be so true. They should not receive what they have paid for.
  5. Do you have a problem with it as your name also pops up. I have made the comment to Omar tongue in cheek because a few days ago he posted about Sylvia Dales suspension within a few minutes of it happening.

Was hoping that Omar could enlighten us on this topic as it seemed that he has inside info. It was a mere shot in the dark. I personally have no problem with the body CSA, BUT.....

Would like to know Amar's real identity. I suppose you would remember insidents about a year ago about confidential info regrding CSA popping onto thehub.
  6. Oh' date=' please send the new road commissioner all the files you retained after your hasty retreat - and accept my apologies for posting the request here - seems as if my emails failed to find you.
    [/quote']

MyMy My files. Please enlighten me. It took you from October 2008 till now to ask me for alleged files I have. You know very well that there is no problem here.

Remember the e-mail send to CSA legal counsel where they were  requested not to speak to me on a certain matter.

Remeber giving me the run around with regards to CSA legal matters for which the budget by the look of things were overspent.

Hope you do not mind that we are going down this path with you.

What was that story again about people and glass houses?

Still I have only voiced my opinion about my license and the service I have received.

Please be so kind as to send me the documentation on the procurement, specification and tender process followed to appoint MyRACE.

    - and accept my apologies for posting the request here.

By the way are you saying here that we are starting legal procedings against My Race.
  7. No Sir' date=' I did not meet all my promises. I will send you a card (in person) tomorrow - the system that we introduced two years ago is - for many certain and uncertain reasons, failing us.

We are taking extreme steps to remedy the situation asap - including taking legal steps -not that that is any consolation for anyone still waiting, which I personally regret.

Once we deliver everyone's cards, I will return to you and your ilk. Oh, please send the new road commissioner all the files you retained after your hasty retreat - and accept my apologies for posting the request here - seems as if my emails failed to find you.
    [/quote']

    Mr. Lemmer

I have responded honestly to your e-mail with regard to what you claim about the current system. I cannot understand the legal steps thing and then allowing the respondent I presume to comment in your newsletter. Strange.

Your personal comments about me on this forum is low and dispicable. It does not suit the status of the position you hold. It also smacks of immaturity.

One thing you should remeber as Road Commissioner I was a volenteer who did not get paid R 40 000 a month to sling mud on the hub. This kind of behaviour is way below the position you hold.
  8. I applied for mine in December along with alot of my mates' date=' well 6 in fact and we all got ours in Mid Jan.[/quote']

Mr. Muller/Mulder? good for you. Mine is still outstanding together with a lot of other people.

Even with the 10 temps hired there is still a need to discuss this topic.
  9. Andre' date=' I wish you were THIS efficient when you were the road director....

    [/quote']

Carinus your allegation is besides the point at this stage.

What is relevent is that I did pay and apply for my license on 30 December 2008 and to date after numerous promises did not receive my license. This is 2 months overdue. So bottom line is did you meet your promise to deliver exceptional service as you claim you do. No Sir I do not think you did.

  10. This is not an attempt to discredit any person, organisation or service provider. My news letter received from CSA and my response to it.

    =Without any prejudice=

    Dear andre engelbrecht,

More than 7500 applications for membership have been received so far for the 2009 calendar year, with 6000 cards already distributed ? approximately 3000 of those in the last two weeks.

?We?ve now worked through the high-load summer holiday application rush and continue to fine-tune the system where necessary,? said Justin Dowdle, Director of MyRace (www.myrace.co.za). ?Education continues and more and more cyclists are changing their mindset [not me] and putting their trust in the system [count me out on this one too]. [Justin I have no trust in your system. How can you trust an electronic system that takes 2 months to process an application while the manual system took a week?]  We are still educating clubs too and encourage cyclists to implore their clubs to become familiar with the system, which really is efficient, professional, user-friendly and trustworthy.? [Clubs do not need educating as we do the bulk of our clubs members license applications as your system freezes etc, etc, etc. You get tired of the little bicycle block running over the screen while the system cannot cope with overload. The system is not efficient it takes five minutes to find your club. How about a search box to find your club? The system is neither professional nor user friendly. You cannot undo anything you have wrongly selected and when you request My Race to delete the entry you promise but do not deliver. Phone MyRace with any questions and it is sorry Justin is the only one that can help you phone him after the weekend for assistance. You then phone and get promise xyz will happen and weeks later nothing has happened. Reply dated 17 February 2009 on a question to the COO is attached.

?Both your managers licenses were approved, which means those cards are also in transit, stolen or never pruinted. I bet it is the latter. Will follow up.

I have now confirmed Colette's application _ I have no idea why our office did not do it, but they might "blame" it on the workload, or it might be a simple oversight.
    ________________________________

I am going to immediately order Andr? another card, and do believe that his card will be oprinted this week still and be sent to your province/club.

Please note I am copying Sylvia and Retief.

Stay well and best wishes to Andre.

    Carinus?

New members using the online application system at www.cyclingsa.com get their membership card (licence) in credit-card form, packaged in a stylised envelope with a welcome letter. Why do we only receive license cards and with no envelope or welcome letter? An improvement over the previous manually produced easy-to-duplicate cards and another element of CSA?s drive to offer best-of-class service. Do you call not being able to produce a simple card which was paid for on application within a period of two months best of class service?

?It should take on average two weeks [two months, two and a half months?] from the time the application is made until the card is delivered by courier to the provincial association of the applicant. It?s then up to the clubs to ensure the membership cards reach their members,? explained Dowdle. This we do but you should deliver on your promises. You do not know what a nightmare you have created saddling the clubs with this inefficient system and way of dealing with licenses. We get screamed and sworn at for you inability to produce. After all it is a transaction between the rider and CSA/MyRace. The clubs and provinces are the unfortunate parties doing CSA?s jobs at the club?s expenses.

Your CyclingSA membership below reflects your 2009 status, If your Status is blank you will need to complete your registration and submit some cycling specific details:

To become a registered CSA member, click here.

What are the different licence types? click here.

Licence Type: Cyclo Sport Licence Licence number: 5810 Status: Confirmed O boy payed for it on 30 December 2008 and still waiting after many promises. Perhaps you should keep the card and refund me including bank costs and interest.

Maybe you guys should admit you have problems and fix it a.s.a.p. or resign as this is clearly not working. If this was a business that served its clients in this way they will be out of business in a flash. I suppose monopolies survive with this kind of client service.

If you feel I have done an injustice to you with this posting please accept my apologies.

  11. My licence was paid for early December' date=' it was not processed,  an enquiry was then made by my club's secretary, my licence was "missing".  My club then paid AGAIN......?????!!!!!! for another licence at the end of January, still no licence so the club phoned AGAIN, the response was "It must have gone missing in the post"

I have not been able to race the entire January and February.

I have only one comment F.....ING PATHETIC.

If there is politics between MR LEMMER and certain clubs (or people),  don't take it out on the riders.OuchOuch

      Grow up!!!!!!!!
    [/quote']

those cards are also in transit, stolen or never pruinted

and your license is not there.

Is this an attempt to pi** us off?
  12. Does anyone know the details . Rumour has it that our National body has been sued . Who sued ? and for how much? for what? Now maybe we can all start sueing for the for whatever

Omar maybe it is under the carpet?
  13. Yes you can see your license is approved but they just do not send it to you.

They do not reply on e-mails and are very seldom available telephonically.

When you do get hold of them they make empty promises they do not keep.

How much does cycling pay for this service?

Also do not blame the clubs. They do what is required.
