  1. Found this poor bike at a Cash Crusaders and was very unloved. I just had to take it home and try and save it. So with the help of a few Hubbers for parts. many hours of polishing all the metal and Bogus-designs for a complete respray, herewith the first test fit. Will sort out brakes etc tomorrow and hopefully a test run in the afternoon.
  2. That is great news. I trust then the Std Bank employees in PE gain free entry Selous?
  3. Try the Buzzrack that attaches to a tow hitch. I have also added the Holdfast spacer between the vehicle's tow hitch mount and the tow ball. This provides enough clearance for the rack and bikes on our Land Cruizer. Travel locally and to Gauteng with 4 bikes and have had not issues with this set up (Although it seems to rain when I place any bike on the back of a vehicle). Importantly with the spacer and tilt function on the racks you can still open the back door to access items
  4. Holding thumbs for the Eritrea - have ridden within some of there guys in Asmara and man they have climbs. You drop 2000m over 50km on some routes
  5. GO MTN!! Well done guys!! SS206
  6. I have converted the T4Africa route into a Garmin / GPS GPX file - PM you email address and I can forward it on
  7. As kid I was spoilt - grew up in the East and our neighbour was one of the floor managers at the Raliegh factory in Springs. He would bring home their samples for me to "test" so rode the first prototypes or imports of the Chopper, Burner BMX and the first Raleigh Banana in SA. Just wish I could have kept all those bikes as part of a "collection".
  8. Please read Dave Barters Obessive Compulsive Cycling Disorder - he clearly explains what we deal with on a daily basis
  9. Still use mine on a daily basis for commuting, 7 years old, many races under its belt and 10 of thousands of training miles only requiring parts as they wear out. Frame (21 inch) is just under 2kg, so a pleasure to upgrade.
  10. With regard Kouga - we working on it. First phase of project is to reinforce the wall and then in a "few years time" the wall heigh will be increased
  11. Hi there I can send you a few contacts of regular riders in the region and you can ask them directly as we are just busy with a mtb trail route guide for the area
  12. Just take it easy and let the Doctors and physio do their thing - most take around 4 months to heal, with mine feeling great after three and half months. I was able to ride after 14 weeks by taking to the road at first. I did stay saint by keeping fit on the spinning bike (Do keep the arm in a sling at first to remind yourself that should not stand up on the stationery bike in the first few weeks). AND don’t throw the dogs its ball only remembering too late that you should not - not fun!
  13. Hi All I use the 4 bike Buzz Rack (Viking) with a Holdfast spacer on our cruiser. This provides engough clearance between the rack and the door mounted spare wheel. This while the rack's tilt mechanism allows for the door to be opened with the bikes loaded. This of all the options I investigated, still allows me to use the vehicle off-road, without minimising departure angles etc. A further bonus of this set up, is that the rack makes use of standard sized bolts and nuts, but most already have safety wire preinstalled so there is little chance of losing them in the first place. Lastly, once folded up the rack also takes up little packing space. The only con I have come across is that the rack is well built and thus solid and must weigh close on 15kg, so not that easy to manhandle when installing or removing. Especially when you are absolutely spent after a race?
  14. Thanks for the info - this mornings ride out here in the sticks was near on 2 deg C on the Karoo side of town!?!
