I have actually done quite a few enduros & no-one has said anything about my lycra. I really enjoy the expressive styles at the enduros, and the laid back atmosphere so my post really was just a query. Now that I think about it, I have also fallen & worn holes in bibs (not for a while thankfully, but that probably means I'm due for another) so an overshort is a good idea. I learnt to wear full finger gloves long time ago !

Are there any rules wrt what kit to wear at enduros ? I wear lycra because I find it cooler, have had baggy pants hook on my saddle and haven't found baggies with a good chamois. But just about everyone else wears pants. I have been told one is supposed to wear knee & elbow guards if you wear lycra (sound like the piss was being taken - which is all part of the fun) but I would like to know, seriously, if there are reasons/rules or whether I just have no sense of fashion.

Stage 3 was my favourite as well. I think the results show what is needed for a good enduro rider : the top guys are super fit and very skilful. I didn't hear any complaining & the various groups I rode with were all chats & jokes on the way up (as it should be). One of the features of endures for me is socialising between runs, which one doesn't really get in other forms. Looking forward to the next one !

Great event, thank you HMBC I found it very slippy early on (rain does that) but it dried up quickly, and the long last run was a total blast (glad to hear Griff say the face is hard : I thought it was just me !). The trails really are sublime. Unfortunately the market was over when I finished, but someone loaned me a beer.

Bike & Bean / Cyclesphere will rent bikes; no trails but nice beachfront to ride on Holla Trails in Ballito rent bikes & have trails (40 mins from CBD, 10 mins from airport)

I rode Howick this weekend for the first time in a long time and the trails are in SUPERB condition. Many thanks and well done HMBC. I plan to put a lot more money in the honesty box in future - and really looking forward to Saturday.
