  1. Still have my Fuji Outland Pro 26" and i love it
  2. Thanks all for commenting. I also haven't been there in ages. Started cycling again and that was my local trail i went to everyday with my yearly pass. I remember the nice trails at the bottom at fountains side as well. Its a pity its all lost now cause i went there at least 5 times a week - talking about 8-9 years ago All the other places are too far to drive to everyday.
  3. Good Day Cyclist Anybody been cycle at Groenkloof recently? Is there still safety issues? Regards
  4. Thanks for the reply. I did check the one out on reunion island and i think thats a awesome start before doing the one in the Alpe d'Huez. I am calculating also what this will cost me and i think ill definitely be able to do the one next year. I saw on the ucc website they have accommodation packages with flights incl. I never knew there was other ones, ive always thought the one in france is the only one. Wonder were i can get info on enduro, dh races in gauteng or in South Africa.
  5. Lol, that's also good advice. I don't want to win it, i only want to Finish it.
  6. Really don't know hey. There was a few attempts at a park and also at one corner close to suzuki cars centurion. Don't know if this is the same tracks but those ones are completely dead and washed away.
  7. yeah i'm fully aware of that but i still want to do it. Thanks for the advice.
  8. Good day Peeps Don't know if this will be a new topic or not but I've always fancied the thought of doing 1 or both of these races. Anybody here ever attempted anyone of them. I did some downhill 9 years ago and had a injury at Groenkloof where i actually torn the muscles in my neck with my xc bike. Vary close call and i'm so happy i didn't break it. I'm 35 now and started again with some enduro, trail riding and hopefully i can build myself up to do one of these. Any advice on training, Tracks i can go to that's not so flat? If you had done one of these races please share your experience, costs, etc with us. Cheers PTA - Centurion
  9. welcome welcome!! You will pick up fast where you left, your attitude is in the right place
  10. I will only use a 29er for xc riding. I will always use my 26 for trails. Thats what i prefer. Maybe you should borrow theres first to understand the hype. i love my 26ers but hey all of them have pros and cons 26,29,650b
  11. Hi all Im Dean, based in centurion/valhalla. Im not new at all but never introduced myself and was also just watching the classifeids. I cycled about 2 years, 2 years ago. I did a few races like, NISSAN TRAIL SEEKERS, USN CUP. CHOC COWS,BIG 5 +1 WD40, VOORTREKKER MONUMENT ETC. I wanted to do the 94.7 that year but my frame broke a month before and couldnt do it. After getting my new bike from the US i cycled for 3 months and then got into motocross. But ive missed the thrill of hard enduro and also the fab body, lol.( i got fat ) I sold my Mx bike and bought an fuji mtb. so im back on the road/trails for the last 3 weeks. Realy missed the sport. So hmmmm.... HELLO TO ALL MTB AND ROADIES Regards
  12. Why not buying a bike thats for downhill and trail riding? its going to cost you but i think its worth it. I sold my dh bike a week ago for 2500 bucks!! it was a khs dh50 fetish, not bad for entry level and beginers. I love hitting the trails hard but DH was not for me cause i almost broke my neck at Groenkloof on my trail bike, torn the muscles in my neck. but ja, like the guys say, safety is importend. So fullface helmet and neck brace is the first thing you buy.
  13. Hey Everybody. Im looking for new places to ride and do my training. I cycle at GROENKLOOF all the time but im so use to it now and need a beter place. Im from valhalla/centurion. Any places near by???
