  1. After doing a couple 94.7 cycle challenges and a Argus on a mountain bike, I also had enough and went over to the dark side. Not one regret so far. I still enjoy mountain biking, but mountain bikes should stay where they belong...offroad. Welcome to the Hub
  2. Unfortunately there are no pills for stupidity!
  3. Well said, and for the record the topic was posted not as an attack on Think Bike and their members, but rather too see if my experience was an isolated event or not. It is never a pleasant experience to come across an accident, and yes I did have compassion for the biker.
  4. Thanks, then it will be a Hilux with a "Think Bakkie" sticker on the bullbar and a "Think Brakkie" sticker on the back for the Rotweilers.
  5. In that case, should I go for the New Navara or the trusty Hilux?
  6. My father in law is a passionate biker, part of a club and rides every weekend, and yes I am sure he does not always do 60km/h, especially if my mother in law is on the back! He told me that he does not ride in the Cradle any more because of these idiots. So I really do not have any issues with bikers, but if you decide to ride like a bat out of hell and as a joke try to scare me...then it becomes an issue. If you are doning 800km/h taking a chance with your own life, just make sure that I am not part of your game. I am also not saying that it was a rider of the think bike group...I am just saying...THINK BIKE
  7. So should I be scared and just because my bike does not have an engine and can't do 300 km/h or is a a case of the scary biker image...Look there are a lot of bikers that are really good okes and they do a lot of good things like their annual teddy bear run etc...unfortunately there is a couple chops also. I just think they are spoiling the fun for everyone. I see the Cradle loop added a couple of speed bumps...and that can surely not be to keep the cyclists in tact. As far as I can remember the Think Bike camapaign has two pictures on it, think it is time that both parties respect each other. Lastly, If you are such a mucho leather wearing hard core biker, why test your metal in a nature reserve? I would think that doing 200-300km/h on a proper circuit like Kyalami or Swartkops is far more satisfying than scaring a weekend cyclist...
  8. Sure, be my guest
  9. About two weeks ago I did a sunday morning ride in the Cradle loop. Nothing serious, just a relaxing ride to get away from it all. On two occasions a motorbike passed me with speeds around 200km/h. I was cycling alone on the day and I kept to the left of the road, but for some reason these chops came by so close that I was almost knocked of my bike. It was pretty obvious to see that they were changing their line to pass me as close as possible. Fifteen minutes later an ambulance passed me, and I though maybe someone had an accident at Teak place or something, another ten minutes passed and next to the road was a crashed superbike in pieces...there was no rider in sight, the bike was a mess and the engine was still warm...I found it hard to have any compassion for the rider who crashed there earlier as i could see that he was most definitely not doing 60km/h and just enjoing the scenery. My point is as follows: Everywhere there are these yellow "Think Bike" stickers to increase awareness and safety of cyclist and bikers, but maybe some bikers, especially the ones in the Cradle should be more considerate towards cyclists. Personally the bikers driving around in the Cradle irritate the sh%$ out of me. Has anyone had the same experience?
  10. Maybe the size of the.....saddle has something to do with the theory???
  11. Pity...some great laughs at that floating bridge section!
  12. With team HTC gone, maybe there is an gap for a new SA team and with all the millions coming from nationalising of the mines...we can maybe have a wildcard team from the ANC youth league? Name change from HTC to ANC and even the colour scheme is almost there?
  13. Sad news...
  14. If I wear the Uber Auro Neclace, will it have any negative impact on the energy fields of my power balance bands... How long does the battery last? Is it water prrof? Colours available? Is it organic?
