  1. How are the sizes...Did you take the same size that you normally wear? Also, how long did the shipping take (from purchase to collection)?

Hey fellow Hubbers, A couple of friends and I have decided to give the DC some thought... For those who did it last year, apart from the training etc, what are the costs of doing the race? Obviously this will differ from group to group because some of us may include beers for finishing in our budget What we want to know is entry fee, petrol for the support car and whatever other costs that one would deem necessary for the event. Actually, any input regarding preparation will be much appreciated.
  4. Super article Vasbyt Ertjies! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
  5. Great climb indeed! I am definitely driving out to train there in future. I was warned about that final kick in gradient, but it still took me by surprise. Kept singing to myself and trying to concentrate on maintaining a rhythm; anything to distract from how tough it was for me to get up. I remember at one stage I asked the cyclist ahead of me how many turns were left and he said two. Didn't know whether to be relieved or not I am hoping to do a sub 4 come Argus yes, even if only just.
  6. Feel out of depth posting on this thread but I was riding in Z group and approx 3/4km in a rider in Niche Logistics (blue and orange) kit went down after a squirrel tried committing suicide by running across the road just as the bunch was passing by. Luckily I just managed to avoid the crash. There was quite a big Niche Logistics group so if anyone know's how the rider is please post. My first time doing Ou Kaapse and man is it a beast! I live in the Northern suburbs and thought Helshoogte (new) would give me an idea of what to expect on OKW. My main thought going up was not to get off my bike for any reason and was happy with my 3:16 finish. By the way, what sort of finish time would that give me for the Argus (also my first attempt this year)?
  7. Agreed! One of the things I like most about cycling (I'm still very new at it) is the camaraderie between cyclists. My prayers r with everyone involved in the accident. Wish you all a speedy recovery. A lil' bit off topic. On my way home from work (in town) yesterday, I saw a cyclist riding on the N1, not even on the left shoulder, but on the line in the middle lane! Is this not foolhardy/illegal? It was at the Marine Drive stretch btw...
