  1. It boils down to a couple of things as summit bikes says, ricochet_rabbit I still respect any guy (maybe not alecBLACKvodoo) out there selling these frames and would like to keep it out of the discussion, beside the day cycling becomes so political that your judged on what bike you ride or from who is the day I loose hop in humanity. AlecBLACKvodoo, please don't be as immature to bad mouth on a forum, we're all cyclist because we love it, you weren't asked to comment nor expected so keep bad mouthing to yourself please. In essance what I'm trying to say is that I've seen several carbon bikes draged by cars, hit by cars, drove into cars, OTBed, wheel whased and so on, yet none have come out as bad as the frame in question. As gummibear says this is very very unusual, so just think twice, there is a reason anyone would be spectacle to buy a no name frame over a bronded one.
  2. Udxcob, I would rather not say as to protect those involved, I'm just grateful for insurance. Sammajoor ... thanks I guess, I can really respect your opinion, I love my bike just as much as any other guy who is up at 6 in the morning and on a bike forum. Pain or Shine hahaha brilliant! Zac.A I assembled it myself, what justifies it though is that I've been working in a bike shop for two years, coming in contact with more mechanical cases in a day than some people get in a year.
  3. Considering you are 21,go for the HT, 75kg is a very good average weight! I'm 18, 1.9m, 65kg and body fat of 2.9%. Giodora are good quality bibs! But I still swear by Assos, age and weight have a lot to do with it definitley, you won't see may 50+'s riding around on HT these days!
  4. Very fortunate to not have looked like the frame! Very true ben-johan, the temptation is great, The real MJ, also true, obviosly some suppliers provide a bang for bucks up to a certain price bracket.
  5. Doubt I would go for a 29er HT, compared to a 26er the fact that it roles easier over objectsmakes it more comfortable. Wanting to race it, I would also suggest not going for a DS but instead investing the money you save buying a HT (not to mention weight) in a cycling bib, more particulary Assos. I myself did a 4day stage race on a 293er HT with a carbon seat, no padding just pure carbon, using a Assos bib I was just as comfortable as any other guy on a DS except I was able to race. Goodluck for the teaining though!
  6. Afternoon all hubbers Not to contradict myself but this is solely my own opinion and do it without the intent to bad mouth any supplier. I have been using aftermarket frames we so often see available on the hub for the past two years and was very pleased up untill a recent experience. Recently Brandon Els (Rep for Probike) posted a article on twitter about the the differance between a 5K aftermarket frame and a 15K branded frame, his message was quite clear higliting the diffirance in strength and various technology inputs going into the make of the frame, I read this article only days before actually breaking my 29er frame that I had bought aftermarket only 2 months ago. The frame broke in 6 diffirent places after my front wheel washed out on a slippery brige.to give you an idea, I was riding at 30km/h when it happened, didn't tear my bib, shirt, didnt't crack my helmet or any other EC90 komponentry I have on my bike. All I am really trying to say is that I believe even though these frames are at the right price, a serious element of strenght has been overlooked and if you don't believe me see the attached picture.
  7. 1) Those hoods are easily replaced and you should be able to find them at any good bike store. The oteher piece you are reffering to is the flight deck, net a necassary bit to replace but more really for the looks and should also be available at any good bike shop. 2) You do get touch up paint but only in basic colours like red or black, nail polish also does the trick. 3) No brainer mate! 4) Besides water sanding paper there is quite little you can do besides replacing parts to actually remove scratches from metal. Taking it to your local bike shop is never a bad idea, don't book it for a service but specificly ask for a crash assesment. A lot cheaper and instead of looking for wear on you BB they actually look for cracks and so on. Hope it has been some helpfull insight
