Hi All, It has been brought to my attention, according to the land owners, the ground maintenance begins tomorrow. Grant will be opening up the single tracks with a team of brushcutters tomorrow. XCOSA will be hosting 5 races on the dedicated XC course, which is undergoing some massive design changes and alterations. If you in the area riding at Modderfontein please go ride the track and give us feedback.

For those who have not attended any previous night rides the following applies: Where: 33 High Street Restaurant Modderfontein (33 High Street) Time: 6pm (most start riding between 18:30 and 19:00) Cost: R40 entry, however if you have the multi card, entry is free. Route: Riders can choose to ride any routes at the park, or choose to follow the dedicated night ride route. The bike was bought in 2010, it is ridden a lot, by this particular customer. It has never had a major service since purchase, against the advise of our mechanics, past and present. This is all I have to say about this matter. The customer has been informed every time he brought the bike in for simple little fix's, since 2010 I might add, that sooner or later this type of excessive neglect in terms of major servcing and replacement of working parts. I challenge anyone to ride every weekend for 3 years and refuse to replace major parts, and when they completely pack up to then complain. It would seem after discussion with other stores, every single one of them seem to have "that customer"

Furthermore please stop bashing the dealers that support the Specialized brand, stock issues are not controlled by the dealers it is a Distribution issue, ie the importers of the brand control the stock availability. We, as all other industries, are at the mercy of the Distribution networks. We obviosuly believe in this product and the benefits that it can generate for the riders that choose to utilise Specialized products, which is why we are passionate about the brand. If you have complaints forward them to me and I will pass them on to the distributor.

Before embarking on this service, the customer was advised and fully notified of the extent of parts being replced. The following maintenance and replacement parts were done: Protune Service New Headset (all bearings) New Cassette New Chain New Chainrings (not just one) New FSR Bearing Kit New Free Wheel Body Tubeless Conversion Fork Suspension Service/Rebuild Rear Shock Service/Rebuild Total R5113.51 You decide if it is unreasonable or not.

The cost is the same as a normal ride R40, and you may use your multi entry card. Another shout out to the XCOSA series being held at Modder this weekend (Sat 13th October). Come try your hand on our new XC course.

Hi All, Just an early reminder that we will be hosting a night ride on the 17th October 2012. Meeting from 18h00, start riding from 18h30. We will meet at 33 High Street restaurant, please be sure to order your food before heading off, so that the kitchen can make the necessary arrangements. For those of you that are apprehensive about night riding....don't be. As long as you have a good light, you will love this form of riding. Hi All, Just a last minute reminder about the night ride tonight at Modderfontein. We have set out a really fantastic route. Hope to see you all there. Start at 33 High Street restaurant, registration is from 6pm.

Hi All, Ok so I spent the day marking out a really flowing course. It will encompass mostly the RED Route. Beginning at the Factory Three Security gate, you will head into the first couple of single track sections (not technical at all), then you will continue towards the otherside of the park, skipping the very rough section commonly known as Great Grant. We have used new reflective arrows sponsored by Bandit Signs. Should you come across a post that has two arrows, you can pick either direction, and you will arrive at the same point on the trail, obviously one route will be more difficult that the other. The difference being either single track through forests or jeep track. If you manage to stay on the marked route, you can expect roughly 30km, however I was not able to drive the whole route being in a bakkie and not on my bike. Riding will begin as soon as you like after 18h30. All riders are encouraged to please bring good quality lights. If you would like to take my contact details, please come see me at registration, in case of any emergencies or serious mechanicals that you may encounter. See you there.

Hi All, So we will be hosting another night ride next week, on the 03 October 2012. This week we are going to try something different, we will be marking the course courtesy of Bandit Signs. They have sponsored large reflective arrows, and anyone looking to have anything branded should definitely check out the webpage. We will set the ideal course for a night excursion. Everybody will be able to ride the course at their own pace. We will have groups for those who would like some companionship in the dark, however the course will be marked in such a way that all will be able to ride it alone. Please make sure that you bring a reasonably good light. We will be starting from 33 High Street Restaurant. They do a mean prego roll, and ice cold beers are always available. Please try to RSVP either via the hub or at Concept Cyclery Melrose Arch email rickyt.ma@conceptcyclery.co.za , so that we have an idea as to the number of participants expected. Hi Guys, There will be two or three different rides, the longest being 35km. I will lead a group, however if you wish to ride alone, you need to take my mobile number in case of any accidents or getting lost. We would prefer to keep it social and we all ride together. See you tonight.

Hi, Multi-pass tickets can be bought on eiother Sat or Sun from the registration table. Park will not be opened during the week until we start utilsing our new and improved gate, which is under construction. Be sure to come join us for the Nigth Ride this coming Wednesday the 19th Sept.
