  1. Hi trekpostal, All my carbon frames are made from real carbon fiber and not "black painted fiber glass" for this reason I chose not to spray my frames. I have done research for over two years to find a reputable supplier and also have tested these frames myself. Thanks AirBender for clearing this on my behalf! Like I said previously, anyone can contact me regarding my frames, or visit my website www.cyclebuzz.co.za I have also put the EU testing standards on there for everyone to see to what standards my frames are tested to. Regards Gawie
  2. Yes, 29er carbon hardtails are available. Please PM me your mail address and I will gladly send you more info regarding the 29er frames. Or send me an e-mail at gawie@cyclebuzz.co.za.
  3. The pina frames are only available in a 54cm.
  4. b-rad and gummibear, Contact me on gawie@cyclebuzz.co.za or on 0827112991 for referances regarding these frames. Many of my clients are more then willing to share their experiences with these frames. I even have ex-pro's riding these frames and also a couple of future pro's that are using these frames.
  5. Hi, I have stack of these bosses laying around, they are for rear only. Mail me and I wil post it to you free of charge gawie@cyclebuzz.co.za
  6. This is a very good chioce, thank you very much! No need to take out the dirty laundry in the public.
  7. This is our newest adition to our hardtail range, and are useing the newest BB 90 Botom Bracket, or PressFit as it is known by SRAM. This frame is not a replica of any other brand, as some of the other frames. This is a unique frame and will get the attention wherever you go!
  8. Oh, Another thing to keep in mind when importing these frames is to have a supplier that you trust, and have build a relation with, and, that have been in the carbon bike bussiness for some time. My supplier have been building carbon frames and parts since 1998. It is a carbon bicycle ONLY factory and not a factory where they make al sorts of Chinese stuff.
  9. Hi, As CycleBuzz is mentioned in this tread (of which I am the owner) I think it would only be appropiate to shed some light on this much debated and controversial subject. Some facts: I did testing of these "Chinese" frames for over two years before I decided to import them, and never had any failure what so ever. In fact the response were so overwhelmed and positive that I am confidently extending the original 2 year gaurantee to a 3 year gaurantee as of 2011, and all the frames that have been sold over the last 2 years will automatically be included in this new gaurantee. Even pro tri-athletes are using some of my TT framesets, not to mention the new sponsorship of a top pro team in 2011 (the team would be announced shortly) which will all be riding UZZIEL Zohar hardtails (that is what the carbon frames imported by CycleBuzz CC would be "branded" as) in the future. So, WATCH THIS SPACE!!!!!!! Many hours were spent in the saddle of these bikes, I am riding a Carbon UZZIEL Zohar myself and it is also extensively used as the main test and demo bike, so far NO FAILURE of any kind. I did the 2010 Transbaviaans 230km extreme MTB race on this frame as well as all the training for this race on this bike. It took us 18 hours to finish this race and spent on average 8 hours on weekends preparing for this race. Surely if it was poorly build or bad material were used it would have failed a long time time ago. In my search for a suitable carbon bike supplier, I made a shocking discovery that most of the carbon frames are made in China. These manufacturers are also not scared to mention for whom they are making frames. But I want to establish my own brand in SA at a very competative price, with not good, but with OUTSTANDING craftmenship quality and an industry leading gaurantee to back the frames. I have even taken some of the frames for testing at a local carbon fiber specialist and were given the green light as far as quality and strength are concerned. Some of the achievements of the riders who are riding UZZIEL carbon bikes. Magoebaskloof MTB Challenge 1st Ride Crater cruise 56km 6th Outdshoorn 2 day stage race 1st on day 1, 2nd on day 2 and 1st overall These results have been obtained by our first sponsored rider, who have been with us for only 3 months so far. We at CycleBuzz are trying our best to make cycling in SA as afordable as possible, we also support the local cycling distributors. Our bikes are not standard of the shelf bikes, we build every bike with passion and pride, according to our customers needs and prefferance. We give the customer what they want and need. 10. I am not the type that critisize easily, BUT: I have in the past been to 2 MAJOR cycling shops in Pretoria, and stood in the one shop for almost an hour and in the other one around 45mins! Without even a hallo from the sales persons, not to mention the help I was looking for. As this shops made millions a year I thought they would be able to assist me in making the right choice in buying a bike (at least this is what their ads promise). I was prepared to spend some serious cash on a top of the range full suspension. Even when complaining about it I was told to drive from Pretoria to JHB, then I would get better service!! This has inspired me to start my own cycling bussiness, so I took the cash and invest it in a small bussiness, not to get rich but help my fellow cyclists out. The shops should remember that it is the clients that put bread on their table, and they tend to sometimes forget it. So to the shop owners LOOK after your clients, and for the clients support your local shops. If you are unhappy about the service, inform the owner/manager and try to resolve the issue. And the distrubitors of brands, O boy! Why are you so picky about who sells your products? The more shops yuo have that sells you products the more money you will make, common sense or not? I know that you have to protect your brand but rather than just say NO, look at all aspects of the bussiness relationship. In difficult times like we live in today, it is time that we as bussiness owners give back to our customers that have helped us grow our bussinesses in the good times!!
  11. I have done some extensive research over the last year or so on building my own mtb. I could not find anyone in SA that made custom frames. Morewood makes frames, but their frames are all standard not custom made. The whole process start at what want in a frame, your riding style etc. Then there are the 3 main materials used to build frames: carbon, aluminium and steel. All 3 have their strengths and weakness, the main thing to consider is weight vs durability. Although alu would be the best bet, 7005 and 6061 are almost impossible to get in SA, and to expensive to order if you are not making 1000's of frames. Tubesets can be ordered online for rougly the same price as a good qaulity second hand frame. Not to mention the different types of heat treatment for alu. The welding process and equipmemt are very expensive. Carbon are not hard to find but a fair knowledge of composites are needed for good qaulity and strong adhesion. Carbon is also expensive. Carbon frames are light and strong but, the builder have to be very precise in every process that are involved.
