  5. 2x Marathon entries available. Pm me if anybody is interested.
  6. Any suggestions with regard to a person that she can approach for coaching? She lives in Bloemfontein, so that makes thins a bit more difficult.
  7. Hi all. Im posting on behalf of a female friend (23 years old) She has been cycling for about 2 years now and has recently started to do well in quite a few races. Some of her recent results were 3rd under 23 lady at Clarens (75km) in the Mtn sereis and second lady overall at the Magalies Monster (82km). She has a dayjob and trains about twice during the week (only +- a 50km ride as hard as possible) and does one or two longer rides (80km +) on weekends. Even though she has done fairly well in races, she is still about 30mins if not a bit more off the leading ladies' times. What would it take to bridge that gap? Is it a case of smarter training or does she need to turn to cycling full time and if so, how does one get sponsored in order to be able to cycle on a full time basis?
  8. Thanks for the fast response. I managed to get two entries.
  9. I need 2 entries for the marathon. I would appreciate it if anybody can help me. I was supposed to sort out the entries for me and my girlfriend, but woke up a bit late. She races quite seriously (3rd u23 lady at Clarens, second over all lady last weekend at the monster), so needless to say, im in the dogbox. It would even be okay if I could get just one entry.
  10. I recently went from 3by10 to 2by10 gears. I replaced my crank, but not my chain and cassette. I have ridden approximately 800km with the chain before the new crank and it seems very noisy ever since replacing the crank. Would it be better to replace my chain or should it still be fine at this stage?
  11. HI Markus What dit the raceface chainring set you back and what is your verdict on it?
  12. Thanx Flowta I had a look on the evobikes site. Its not cheap, but will give me a much better range of gears. 1 by 10 seems like an attractive option using the general lee conversion.
  13. Hi Flowta Will the 11-41 cassette still be 1 by 10? If i can do that without having to convert my rear wheel to fit an 11 speed cassette and new shifters & rear dr etc I will definitely consider that.
  14. Thanks for the reply Crow I've been testing myself by only riding in my middle chainring and have not found anything in my area that i couldn't ride so far.
  15. I'm currently running a 3 by 10 setup, but thinking of converting my mtb to a 1 by 10 or if needed 2 by 10 drivetrain. I like the idea of 1 by 10 more as it is simple and will cost way less. Im not the best climber (average), so I am a bit apprehensive. If I convert, I will probably be running a 34T chainring up front with a 11-36 cassette. Using a SRAM X9 type 2 rear dr and will get a chainguide if needed. I live in Bloemfontein, so no real mountains, but I would like to do longer rides (80 - 100km) and would also like to be ale to do races in Natal and Nelspruit area now and then as well as some stage races. Will I be running out of gears or will a change of chainring (maybe a 32T or 30T) if I know that im going to be climbing more sort out this problem? Does anybody have any experience with this setup? any comment would be helpful.
