  1. Thanks guys. I appreciate the help. I will look on the hub as well
  2. Hi guys. I've been a mountain biking for just over a year now and love the sport. I never thought I would enjoy road cycling but I recently joined a triathlon club, and on training rides, I have realised how awesome it really is. Just when I thought I had done all the mtb upgrades possible and the expenses were over....I became hooked on road cycling. Now the dilemma. I didn't really budget for a road bike, but I started the search anyway. I have come to realise that it's just as complicating as mtbing was to begin with. I have a maximum of 14k for a bike. (would like to spend less if possible). I was leaning towards a cheaper bike, but I hear mixed reviews on components/frames etc, and where to spend your money. Basically, I am confused and need some help. To give some insight, I ride a full xt mtb, if that helps to compare to road groupsets. I am looking for a bike to ride twice a week (at the moment) but I want to ride some road races so mustn't be triathlon specific. Any help from the roadies will be much appreciated. Thanks guys
  3. I'm keen for any time in the morning as long as it's not too late. What route we looking at? Weather forecast looks great
  4. Who is keen for Saturday morning and what time?
  5. I'm keen to start this as well. I can't believe there has been no replys to this. It would be great to meet every Sunday with a group of people who are just keen to go out and have some fun.
  6. MiWay told me that all accidental crashes are covered and more specifically if u break a wheel they will pay out. Excess is R400.
  7. I just bought a new bike. I have got a quote from MiWay to insure it for 30k and I pay R150pm. I will probably keep it for 3 years. So my total insurance paid over the life of the bike will be R5400. (150 x 36 months). Now if I had to break my wheelset during those 3 years, it will cost me R5500 to replace if I don't have insurance. So in my mind, it's a rather good deal paying the 150pm for peace of mind
  8. Thanks for the info guys. I will be riding a 29er DS. Going to see what the lbs has in stock.
  9. I am concerned about the strength of the wheels
  10. I know this has been discussed but so many people have conflicting views. I even get different answers when I consult bike stores. Which would be more suitable for a 95 kg rider. 2012 American Classics or Stans Ztr crest? Thanks
  11. Hi guys Whats the cheapest/fastest way to post a frame from CT to JHB? Thanks in advance
