Thanks!

  10. @Hairy, i stay in Milnerton, near the Woodbridge Island Lighthouse (milnerton beach)...Are u keen to let me test ride..?
  11. Hi all, Ok, ive been phoning around and doing some research regarding the Shova ST and the frame size for me specifically....and from the feedback i got from my previous post and from speaking to the guys at Morewood themselves, the general consensus is that i should go for a LARGE frame. I have however had some feedback from guys saying they are the same (or very similar height) saying that they ride medium and that its perfect form them....Im 1.8m, 90kg's. Ive phoned all the dealers specified on Morewoods website to see if they have any Shova's on the floor (long shot i know) but alas, no one has any Shova's as they went out of production 2 years back.... So now my request... Would any of the Morewood guys (Cape Town based) with Shova ST's in either a medium or large be willing to let me have a quick spin on the bike just for me to get an accurate feeling of the 2 frame sizes? Im not talking about bombing the thing down the hill, but just a chilled pedal around for a few minutes...PLEASE!!!!!!! Im willing to come to your house and take a spin in the street or meet elsewhere etc at your convenience? Kind of desperate here guys...really need to know for myself which frame size would be better but in order to do that i need to actually have a 'lil go on the bike.... If anyone is willing to help me out they can send a PM or reply to post here. Im in Cape Town, willing to travel (around Cape Town) to test the bike...Cape Town's not that big! Thanks in advance guys
  12. Guys, besides the difference in rear shocks between the Shova ST and LT, is there any difference in the frame geometry between the two? I've been doing a bit more reading and people refer to the LT as a more aggressive FR/DH bike whereas the ST is seen more as a trail/all-mountain bike...is that basically a result of the rear shock travel between the two or are there other significant differences between the LT and ST?
  13. Thanks for the feedback guys! Ye I was looking at the shova frame in the classifieds section..but its a medium LT...was thinking about buying it but decided to do a bit more homework first..hence this post! It seems from the feedback that it really comes down to rider preference with some guys saying the medium suits them well and others the large..guess to decide for myself I would have to try take a spin on both before deciding anything..
  14. Oh and just to clarify guys..do u know if there is any difference in the frame sizes (s,m,l) between the older (2008-ish) and the newer morewood lineup? The frame I am contemplating would be the older version..can't afford the latest rigs!
  15. My bad Airborne...just saw now a few posts up that you did state your height and bike size! Shot
  16. Excuse the ignorance guys..difference between LT and ST? is the lt a longer coil spring and the st a shorter travel air shock? And then why would the st be the better option?
  17. @ Airborne...how tall are you and what size is your shova?
  18. Apologies for all the noob questions.. just trying to get my facts straight to make an informed decision when the time comes!
  19. Thanks for the replies guys..would the Shova be a decent bike for all-mountain riding? Have heard some guys saying that its basically a DH Izimu with a shorter fork..? Is that the case?
  20. Thanks GrubScrew, ye thats what i was told. That not all makes have the same size frames etc...do u ride a Morewood or have you ridden one..? If so, what size was good for you?
  21. Hi guys! Really new to the forum...been roaming the pages for a while but havent posted much at all! Loving the gravity section! Im currently riding a 2012 Silverback Alpine hardtail....not a bad bike (and also nothing to write home about) but the riding that my mates and i are doing and are more into is that of the freeride/trail type riding. Been thinking seriously now about upgrading to a dual sus rig which i reckon would suit my style of ridng and also give more confidence on the hairy descents (which i love, but the hardtail is really being put through its paces) Im considering an older Morewood Shova lt/st as i would need to be able to climb aswell. Is the Shova a compotent all-rounder for climbing and descending? And im really not sure what frame size i would need...Im 1.8m tall and weigh 90kg's. What would your thoughts be on frame size for me? And also, if i were to go look at a Morewood Shova how would i know what the frame size is...? Is it indicated somewhere on the frame? I was thinking possibly a medium frame but was told today by the guy at The Bike Shed (Contermanskloof) that the older Shova sizes were some what smaller than the current line-up of Morewoods and that if i was looking at the older frames then i should go with a large. But in the same breath ive read on the forums here of people in similar situations being told to go for a medium....really not sure??? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks
