  1. Had the fork serviced and asked them to check the chain. told me it's just on the 0.75 and due a change, done another 500 or so kms. My fault should have paid better attention but really has not given me a minutes trouble since new, just recently started feeling sloppy. Thanks for the info. Tell me how many times can you re-use the same connection point in the chain with the pin's? Or just go to a power link/sigma connection type chain?
  2. It's just a fad till the next best thing hang in there it'll get cheaper!
  3. "Almost New"
  4. I must have gone way beyond 0.75 then? If you ride the chain to the 0.75 limit then replace can the life of the cassette and chain rings be extended or will I face this issue again? Alternately can the chain be changed regularly (1000km intervals) and thus significantly extend the service life of both the cassette and chain rings and offset the cost of the additional chains?
  5. Hi Folks, I know prob been asked in the past numerous times, so apologies in advance. I replaced the cassette and chain on my XT M785 2x10(achieved the wear limit on the chain). Now with new chain and cassette the chain is jumping the big chain ring with some power applied and a cyclic(crank rotation not chain) grating noise on the small chain ring. Guessing it's time to replace both chain rings? Can the small chain ring just be turned around to use the other side of the teeth as does no pick-up or drop-off functioning of the chain? Rgds, Timasin.
  6. The website address in the good old US of A is www.figmo.com Apparently some infringement issues with their choice of brand name. Been asking questions related more to the spec of the fork on offer with the frame at the mo and if going to full monty through them with wheels cockpit etc will there be a discount, also if I could be referred to previous frame buyers, since then I've not got feedback. The sales person said that they are moving wheels and mnt bike frames at a pace but the road frames are slow sellers. I kinda guess this is due to the migration to mnt bike due to road safety etc.
  7. Guess this would suggest that there are not many of these frames out and about. Bit of a shame as looks alright and comes in at a reasonable price considering the alternates and their prices, out there made of Ti.
  8. Been on a set of Red Power 29XL's for a couple years, 7000 odd km's and not a single issue. Do my own maintenance and keep them cleaned and well looked after. Go for it, try for a deal through Evobikes, they a dream to deal with.
  9. Hi All, Done a couple searches and only found forums related to Edge Design wheels. Interested in the Ascetic frame they have on offer at the mo. Been in contact with them directly and got spec, sizing information and material information no worries. What I'm trying to find is anyone who's ridding these frames and get some feedback or reviews of the product. Any thing constructive would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
  10. Campy hoods advertised in the sportsworld website.
  11. Excellent, I'm currently out of the country but will be back as from the 30th of October for the couple weeks leading upto 94.7. I'll PM you my details and we can hook up morning's afternoons as required.
  12. Hi All, Tired of riding on my own and looking for a group to do morning rides with. I'm in the Centurion, Mall of Reds area and keen to get 50 or so km's done. I am comfortable at 30km/h average if that's any help. Rgds, Timasin

  14. Thanks Gents, for the info so far. It did come with a service kit included in the box, but I'm afraid it's going to have to wait till my return to SA as in Zim at the mo and no means to get it serviced prior to the event. Flat29, thanks for the lead will contact Johan on my return.
  15. At my pace that could have been a while ago!
  16. Hi Guys, A little input would be greatly appreciated if possible. Bought a brand new 2013 Reba RLT 29' and installed it at the begining of the year. I have accumulated 2800km so far on it and just wondering what sort of service interval I need to impose on the fork? I have kept it clean as possible and there is no play at all, with the seals in 100% condition. I've had a look through the service manual from the website but no time or distance limitations imposed that I can see from Rockshox. Got a five day event coming up which should put the km count over 3300km by the time I get back to SA. Is this a take it as it comes type thing or any hard and fast rules to stick to wrt to servicing ones fork? Rgds, Timasin.
  17. Just picked up on the forum. I've just installed XT brakes on a new build and the thought of buying 1L of hydraulic fluid at R300 plus, or two Shimano bleed packs at R160 each is making me seriously nauseous. 100% it'll be cheeper to just get the local LBS to do the bleed job. Thanks for the Castrol LHM lead, I'll do my research and see if it'll work.
  18. So purchased a couple pairs, figured at the price I could not go too wrong. I'm 1.83m tall and bought large as per the sizing indicated. I think the large is a little to small for me so would suggest perhaps a size larger than indicated, but don't quote me on this! They are really well costructed and the fit whilst seated on the bike is nice and comfortable. I do seem to find though that the padding design leaves the majority of the padding a little far back unless I'm in a fairly upright position. Seems are flat and I've had zero chaffing at all from day one. Doing a three day ride to the Amashova start from Johannesburg with day four being the race. Will provide further feedback after this as I suspect they will be properly tested during the course of the four days. I must say though that I am happy with my purchase and if you cannot afford the "imported Italian" stuff then go for it. Rgds, Timasin
  19. Hi All, Been looking online for replacement bib shorts and came across Buycycle advertising Decca bib Shorts. Tried looking online for reviews of their kit and have seen the obvious facebook page but otherwise not alot in the way of reviews. They seem to be producing for a number of team etc in SA. Could anyone wearing them actively give me some constructive input into their quality and comfort? Rgds, Timasin
