  2. Thanks for the offer stretched, but i am in Clarens this weekend for the MTN race there... my inseam is 81.5 cm barefeet, looking at that and my length the L technically should be fine. If my stem is too long i'll sell it and get an XL
  3. That is a bit steep, but not a bad price for a Ti frame. Looking good XTC, cant wait
  4. My sentiments exactly!
  5. i calculated a 2.7 cm difference: Effective Top Tube (in) 23 23.7 24.4 25.2 I am sure the L will be fine if you buddy is riding a 18"
  6. That might be difficult Hairy, i have only seen two SS riders so far up here divernick ans his better half @XTC1 - Seeing as i am building a SS specific bike is was thinking of getting the http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/FROOSSLTD29/on_one_inbred_29er_single_speed_ltd_edition as for the op tube length, you might be rigth
  7. ill let you know, after i have done some more research, thanks dude @SteveS - I am 105Kg with kit, they might be a nice starter set.... especially if they are going as cheap as you say
  8. @ SteveS - thanks dude if 'n decide to go rigid ill let you know as i was looking at one of those as my rigid option. @ Hairy - Ti now you are talking hopefully they dont come back with litespeed type pricing, i have always wanted to own a Ti bike @ Stretched - hehe cool thanks @ XTC - now i am confused the medium should be too small for him, i have quite a long torso, so you recon L should be fine? My Scot spark is a Large and the geometry is quite similar (on paper even though its a FS bike) and the fit is not that bad so now i dont know
  9. Thanks for the info guys! @XTC i am going balls to the wall on this one with no turning back, used to do lots of road cycling too and used to really grinding big gears @SteveS ill go take a look but i really need strong wheels due to me weight and riding style, on my old trek 26er hardtail when i weighed 90kg i had to true my wheels once a month and put them out of round quite quickly one ride ended up poping spokes in both front and rear wheels in one ride, i blame my DH days for that @raab - I am crazy excited dude, ill post pics as i progress So far nobody i phoned came back to me with pricing you can get really good deals online as XTC mentioned will start looking
  10. Awesome ill give them a call now , thanks slick
  11. Do you perhaps know what your spoke lenght is?
  12. Thanks for the info guys and the headsup on the cassette body will get the singlespeed hub, i read it has quicker in engagement too. I will phone around for the best pricing and definitely include Mike's
  13. HI Guys, I am not worried about weight, I need strength and a wheel that i wont need truing every two weeks. Busy looking at these: http://www.thehubsa....9inch-tubeless/ As apparently they have no weight limit, or i am going to build up (by yellow saddle) a set with ZTR Arch EX rims and Hope hubs. The ZTRs are probably stronger and stiffer, total build will cost around 2500k more than the above. Was initially thinking of using the wheels (Alex) from my FS Scott but they have so much lateral flex its crazy, i think their only saving grace under my weight is the suspension on the Scott so that is out of the picture
  14. Thanks stretched, where did you get your fork?
  15. Think ill get the XL, then there is the fork, either one of the below: http://on-one.co.uk/...one_carbon_fork or http://www.chainreac...x?ModelID=71589 I am not convinced on the rigid yet i am heavy 105kg with kit, large build so ill probably be dropping 10kg - 15kg at most, so the rigid fork will be taking quite a beating (myself included hehe)
  16. True, i have decided to go with the 29er, will be placing the order to day hopefully in your opinion, should i got for the L or XL, i think i might be right on the edge of the 19.5 (L) and dont want a foot long stem...
  17. yip that is what i am going to do i am just looking at the total build costs now and building up a 29er will be much more expensive than a 26er as the secondhand parts (wheels and forks) for the 26er are plentiful and very inexpensive compared to the 29er options, analysis paralysis it always happens
  18. hehe no worries, will hopefully get time to go watch it tomorrow after riding. I watched every trailer released for that movie!
  19. Nothing they are great bikes, got rave reviews too Solaris is just a bit too expensive compared to the On-One
  20. lol still need to go watch that movie
  21. In terms of size, I am just under 6,2" (188cm) and was thinking 19,5" or should i go bigger? Think i will just order straight from their site, i see they have a kicka$$ deal going on a inbred 26er with fork: http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/ZXOOIN26/on_one_inbred_26er_frame__fork_bundle But then its the 26er vs 29er story again
  22. Cool thanks flippa, did some more reading, definitely going to go with the Inbred. Thanks for the info though
  23. Thanks Hairy, divernick also recons they are the way to go, all the reviews i read about them were good too. That sipping is not bad at all, ill get in contact with they guys there and see what they can do. As for the weight, not to worried about that, at this stage the rider has atleast 15kg to drop
  24. Dagse! First post, i looked for an "Intoduce yourself" section but could not find one (probably searched like my a## again) After spending the weekend riding with some SS folk i am very keen on getting one going. Got back into MTB after about 4 years off and i am busy shedding all those boerie rolls and beers, got a long way to go still but we'll get there . I got myself a 29er FS bike that i am riding at the moment and i like how easily it rolls over rough terain so a 29er SS will be high on the list. I spent quite a while reaserching and looking at all the frame options out there and i might have narrowed it down to two frames (i think) On One - Inbred and a Kona Unit. I like the Ragley Piglet but that is a 26er frame and i cant afford the TD1 I have noticed a few guys on here have On One frames, where did you guys order, from this site http://www.on-one.co.uk ? The Kona i can get from Maveric so that is not too much of a pain. I would like to go CroMo as it is a little easier on the body, not as harsh as ALU. If you guys have any other reccomendations on SS CroMo 29er frames, i am open to suggestions Cheers /h
