  1. Craftsmanship, as expected, is fantastic 34t http://c455580.r80.cf2.rackcdn.com/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/m/t/mtb_hope_chainring.jpg
  2. Cool idea For Garmin it is not an app, Strava just pulls the info off of your Gramin via a browser plugin. Also GPS on cell phones are not the a great in terms of accuracy, the Gramin units are pretty good, my edge 500 sits at 3m accuracy most of the time.
  3. awesome! Start a new thread and keep us upto date
  4. Second that, my HR was max spinning out at 24 /25 kph on the flats, crazy
  5. IMHO, if you are not a weight sensitive individual, like myself, as slick/hairy mentioned the Hope/Flow combo i have going will be pretty much bulletproof, plus going tubeless on those rims took me less than 30min for both wheels. The reality of the situation is we are not professional cyclists who do this for a living so those few extra grams is not going to matter much or cost you a podium finish, worry free riding to me is more important
  6. ill be doing the 40km will consider joining you on the 70km for the rest too
  7. Hehe, yeah converted my wheels to tubeless last night too ready for the race this weekend!
  8. Thanks BodyBikeFit, that would be great!
  9. Awesome thanks dude, will do. I have already sprayed WD40 into all the little holes and tubes where ever I could when I was building the bike up really enjoying the bike, so much so that I sold my fullsuser Scott!
  10. I had an issue with the cleat twisting, was hoping that the wedges would do better
  11. That would be awesome! http://www.bikefit.com/images/product/large/3_1_.jpg They are shaped like a wedge, thin to 1mm thick on the opposite side and go underneath the cleat (between cleat and shoe) to correct over/under pronation
  12. Hi Guys, Does anybody know of bike shop in Gauteng that stocks the SPD wedges from Bikefit? I am making due with a washer at the moment but that is obviously not ideal. Cheers
  13. Thanks guys! @ slick - Yip, that is what i wanted to do but could only find the white ones quickly, ill order some red ones from CWC @ Hairy - It is awesome, i am already much quicker up hills plus the single track due to the ride and forget nature of the single speed, i am really enjoying it!
  14. Thanks guys! Yeah, it does look alot nicer with the naked eye, for some reason the camera does not capture the contrasting colors that nicely 29er is the way to go Nick
  15. All done rides like a dream! Check out http://www.thehubsa....es/page__st__80 for more pics
  16. Ok as promised some pics! Ill cut the steerer shorter as soon as i have my riding position dialed, pretty close will see how it feels on a longer ride tomorrow Before first ride at NF: After first ride: After wash: I like the detail on-one put into their components, their seatpost shares the same logo: Little hard to capture on camera but the pearl paint job looks awesome! The 19.5" frame turned out to be a very nice fit, the geometry is fantastic and the bike is incredibly agile. Climbs and descends like a demon, i am totally in love with this bike, the SS experience was strange at first, after getting it in your head that you cant shift and this gear is what you got the ride became an absolute pleasure. Not having to worry about what gear you are in on the single track is really nice and you are left to just enjoy the ride and trail. On the climbs i quickly learned that momentum is your friend and that keeping your speed and RPM up makes the climbs much easier (cardio restrictions taken into account ) you end up flying uphills with some interesting moans and comments coming from our geared counterparts as you pass them hehe. I have a funny feeling my Scott will be gathering lots of dust in the garage I would like to thank everybody for their advice and input around getting this bike off the ground Honorable mention - divernick who had to endure my incessant questioning over the phone and via PM/SMS, you got a taste of my OCD there and to him and his better half for getting my interest going on the SS front i am really enjoying it!
  17. I got my bits from On-One in about a week and a half en CRC in 4 days. I would give the IMS people a call and give them your tracking number, or phone SAPO call center and find out if you have an SA tracking number yet to match your TNT one.
  18. hehe you guys are classic, all done! holy crap and it rides like a dream tried to take some pics but they dont come out that well. Will take some tomorrow morning, before and after the ride fosho! Its a bit heavy, but i expect that 12.4kg mostly the fork and wheel contributing to that figure.
  19. hehe, almost there! divernick i think is itching to give it a spin this weekend too
  20. Not too worried about exclusivity, strength and durability is what i am after and i think these will be golden Thanks for referring me to Jason, great guy, great service!
  21. According to the SA Supplier they have plenty stock of the Arch EX rims, you can get hubs from CRC or locally and have a set built up. If you want to build Jason from International Trading is a good choice. Paired with some hope hubs they are a great combo.
  22. I am 107Kg with kit and went for Flow's with Hope hubs (rear SS), have not ridden them yet but they are All Mountain rims and obviously a bit heavier (which doesnt bug me, ill take strength over weight any day) they are the strongest rims that Stan's offer
  23. And here is a pic of the frame in box with some extra goodies:
  24. Sorry guys, almost there. Just need to fit the chain today then i am done and will post some pics! She is looking really good as a teaser below is a pic of the wheels, big thanks to Jason from International Trading!
